12815796, Will Your Job Be Done By A Machine? (3.5% chance for me)

Machines can do some surprising things. But what you really want to know is this: Will your job be around in the future?

We have the "definitive" guide.

Just let the robots teach 'em.

but yeah, we'll let robots take over for 2-3 years and then have people step back in when they hit 9th grade. haha

I teach Sp Ed middle school

First of all, middle schools should not exist because (most) 6th graders can't handle being around older kids.

Second, middle school kids are NUTS! Some have grown up problems but nowhere near the mental fortitude or reasoning skills to handle them (and may never).

But yeah, I walk in my school every day like I'm entering the twilight zone.
12816141, middle schools are very special/interesting places.

High School Teachers have a 0.8% chance of being automated.

Me on the other hand :(
Accountants and Auditors have a 93.5% chance of being automated.

I've never been more worried about a doomsday scenario in my entire life. People are very delusional when they think 'Oh...I'll be ok. My job can't be automated'. That may be so....but if 50 million people are unemployed there will be no schools to teach at. No businesses to manage. No courtrooms to lawyer in. The jobs that ARE left will have such an incredibly high supply that you won't even be able to get paid to do them.

I think this might be an endgame for free economies and in some ways....for capitalism as a whole. The only solution for when 'there's not enough to DO' is socialism.
12816295, The transportation and food industries are screwed

On the bright side, it doesn't take a lot of personal investment to get into those types of jobs. On the down side, all of those people with low skills and little education will have even more limited options.
12816497, I am in IT, half of my job is already done by machines
