I think most readers understand that Richmond was the capital of the Confederacy, but I don't get why that passage reads so awkwardly to me. Where the pictures were taken seems irrelevant as well.

The pictures aren't even the issue. It's everything else. And to be so brazen about it. Is this another obvious case of WP?
