12807967, same one since 2000. Haven't live in Maryland in nearly 10 year either lol...

Folks used to get confused 5 years ago....but now, it's kinda commonplace to have a cell# that's no relation to your current address.

every time I needed to cut the world off after a breakup or trauma
12807977, Two, but only because I "traded phones" with my wife, then fiancee

I was on ATT and she was on T-Mobile when the iPhone was an ATT exclusive. Her job gave her an iPhone, and we both had grandfathered rate plans that were better than what was being offered at the time, so we swapped phones. She took over my account and I took hers. We both got number changes after swapping to avoid the confusion of getting each other's calls.
12808023, lol @ the last line... "each other's calls"...... c'mon player...lol....

12808088, naw just too lazy to have the number ported
Posted by PoppaGeorge, Mon May-18-15 02:16 PM
though since we're talking from 2005, a lot of mobile carriers wouldn't do it.

We've switched carriers a lot since 2005 and just got a new number each time with only two exceptions.

I got hood cousins who can't keep a phone on. This accounts for a lot of new numbers.
12808032, That too.
Posted by Case_One, Mon May-18-15 01:22 PM
People that can't keep 5 simple phone numbers have more than simple problems.

Like I said above, we've ported our numbers twice that I can remember, but the most recent round of phones we got while ditching smartphones 100% we just said "fuck it, gimmie a new number".

Everyone tells me it's the only number they have memorized.
12808071, lol, LOTS! I used to change my number every two years, and sometimes less
Posted by SuiteLady, Mon May-18-15 02:01 PM
than two years if I moved to a new city. I have also moved a lot in the past decade. I have lived in 5 different area codes in the past decade. Really 7 different area codes but moving around LA doesn't count (213 to 310 to 562 back to 310).

I like changing my number for a couple reasons: 1) it weeds out people you want to terminate contact with, and 2) some 1-800 numbers will route you differently based on your area code. For example, I would call the VA education benefits line from my 816 phone number. It would route me to the office in Oklahoma. Once I get the the representative they would be like 'your file is a west coast file - you should be talking to someone in another office.' And I had to go through this EVERY time. There was never a button to push saying I want the west coast office. Then, one time I was moving an donating all my furniture to the salvation army. When I called the pickup line from my 510 number I would get a message that said "sorry, this number cannot be dialed from this area code."

I must be the only person who has ever experienced these things though, because every time I talk about it people look at me like I am crazy.
12808080, nah, I've experienced this too. Calling Comcast is the fucking worst
Posted by John Forte, Mon May-18-15 02:09 PM
12808117, at least 10-15. maybe 30 phones, tablets, aircards, etc
Posted by Riot, Mon May-18-15 02:46 PM
And im on the low end

<-----Works 4 the phone company
12808127, damn... forgot all about the aircards
Posted by PoppaGeorge, Mon May-18-15 02:56 PM
So... 4 of our laptops came with Sprint mobile data cards built-in.

We have bought 3 hotspots in the past (currently have one)
and... when we left Sprint for T-Mobile a few years ago the wife and I picked up a pair of their ZTE Rocket mobile data adapters, which require their own phone number (and they can send/receive text messages and have a slot for a micro SD card of it's own... pretty nifty devices I must say).

yeah... I've had more numbers than I really thought about.

My second number overall.
12808334, 2, I only changed to get a job before I moved to NYC
Posted by ThisIs_ATruthThang, Mon May-18-15 05:40 PM
I felt like jobs weren't calling me back with my long distance number.

I don't have to change my number at the rate I be blocking muthafukkers lol.
