One of our supervisors bought it for a handful of us at a team building event. It was nice, really smooth.

Posted by BigJazz, Thu May-14-15 01:53 PM
it was at a corporate function in the early 00's drinking on the company's dime. no way would i buy it myself on my working man's salary.

if i ever hit the lotto, there would always be a bottle at least 1/2 way full in my house...

dude said it was $250 a bottle
tasted just like a real peaty scotch. YUM.
12805374, I had some Cognac that was like $2000 a bottle once
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Thu May-14-15 01:59 PM
It was pretty um, complicated, on the tongue. I don't really fuck with cognac but I couldn't turn that down.

I've had a few expensive tequilas and whiskeys, too, but nothing close to that price, more like $200-$300 for a fifth. The buzz from the whiskeys was awesome. Some of the tequilas were super clean, others had too much going on for me. I don't like "spicy" tequila, I like it smooth and subtle.

Overall I think the liquor industry is almost as bad as fashion when it comes to pricing/value. The best vodkas on the shelf cost about $15 a fifth yet obviously you can spend more. Tequila values are all over the place but I think you've got to spend at least $20 and probably more like $30+ there.
12805385, Ace of Spades. To kinda be fair, it was room temperature
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Thu May-14-15 02:03 PM
But it tasted like super extra regular champagne.
12805529, I saw that shit at a store in Vegas near Stratosphere
Posted by PoppaGeorge, Thu May-14-15 03:33 PM
Was in there to cop some liquor at non-strip prices. They had three bottles, one of 'em ran over $600. I asked 'em if they sell many and dude was like "only guys that buy it are young and usually with a woman or group of their boys".

I didn't even know the shit was still around like that.

Going for $1,200+ a bottle! Sometimes, they pour the shit out on the couches or spray it on the crowd. So damn stupid.

12805524, Johnny Walker Blue or Maclallan 18
Posted by spades, Thu May-14-15 03:32 PM
Good shit, not worth the $ tho.
12805884, went to a wedding 2 years ago that had Johnny Blue for the open bar
Posted by RobOne4, Fri May-15-15 12:43 AM
my brother inlaws best friend tied the knot. His wife's dad is a multimillionaire and he spent like 250k on this wedding. The venue was awesome but other than that everything else was cool but not 250k cool. Anyway was drinking Johnnie Red the whole night. THat was what was on display so that's what I chose. Finally about an hour in the bartender was like I have a bottle of blue. I was like for free? He said yeah. I said break that shit open son. So he did and I went to work on that shit. It was good but not $200 a bottle good.
12805539, my moms used to get my pops this fancy Courvoisier on special
Posted by mikediggz, Thu May-14-15 03:36 PM
occasions...it costed like $100 or so...smooth as silk
12805541, Sounds like price does not always equate with better taste.
Posted by initiationofplato, Thu May-14-15 03:37 PM
12805549, it also depends on the palate. i'm not a champagne drinker so white star
Posted by BigJazz, Thu May-14-15 03:41 PM
Moet prolly taste just as good to me as a bottle costing $100+

He stays on some "HOLY SHIT, YOU GOTTA TRY THIS!" It's always lost on me, cuz it all tastes the same to me.
12805742, Louis XIII just to do it.
Posted by RaFromQueens, Thu May-14-15 08:04 PM
I don't really drink like that, but it wasn't anything special.
12805761, Glenfiddich 21
Posted by bigkarma, Thu May-14-15 08:42 PM
It was given to me for my birthday. It's $200 a fifth, but knowing the giver, I suspect he got it via "the hook-up."

It was good...very good and I savored that bottle for quite awhile. It wasn't so good, however, that I'd spend that much for myself.
