12789290, what did you think about the film "Heat"?
Posted by mistermaxxx08, Fri Apr-24-15 02:18 AM
did you feel the movie was great, good or just average???

do you like Pacino and Deniro in films together or do you feel its easier to appreciate there body of work apart?

where did this film rank in terms of action and suspense to you?

did you feel the film was too long or just right?

do you think it has aged well or not?

12789303, you really do have an obsession with rankings huh?

did you feel the movie was great, good or just average???

good...3rd best Mann movie behind Mochicans and the Insider

do you like Pacino and Deniro in films together or do you feel its easier to appreciate there body of work apart?

doesnt matter....a great cast usually saves a shitty script

where did this film rank in terms of action and suspense to you?

i dont

did you feel the film was too long or just right?

dont care

do you think it has aged well or not?

yes...wish more suspense movies like that were out now

12789359, great movie...have to stop and watch it each and every time its on.
Posted by Cenario, Fri Apr-24-15 08:25 AM
i just hate the ending.
12789456, For me it ends when Neil looks at Edie and runs away
Posted by j., Fri Apr-24-15 09:44 AM
Everything that happens after that is Hollywood BS

that would have been the perfect ending, her standing there as the camera fades to black. His crew is decimated, he leaves his woman when the heat was coming around the corner, and we would have wondered if he got caught or got away.

I remember being hyped for the DeNiro/Pacino scene and then being meh afterward. But in hindsight, Pacino won. "What are you, a monk?"

and other great Pacino quotables: "get killed walking your doggie" and "she's got a GRRRREEATTT ass!"

12789510, i stop watching when he gets off the highway
Posted by Cenario, Fri Apr-24-15 10:23 AM

When McCauley slams his face into the table, and the guy in the next booth looks up like he's going to say/do something. The ice grill that Tom Sizemore gives dude is so fucking cold. I still aspire to give an ice grill that perfect.
12790096, He gave him that "You don't wanna get in this shit" look...
Posted by BlassFemur, Fri Apr-24-15 09:50 PM
I remember that. They cast the perfect people for that crew. They all killed it.

12790076, random story about "Heat"
Posted by TRENDone, Fri Apr-24-15 09:06 PM
i went to europe last jan 2014 with a girl i was dating at the time. we stayed at her cousin's place in paris for 2 nights. her cousin was a school teacher from america that moved to paris & ended up marrying this french film-maker. dude had the SICKEST home theater set up i've ever seen. top notch projector, pull down screen with the special material, vintage speakers/amp all calibrated...and they lived in 2 bd in an apt complex.

dude said his favorite film all-time was "Heat."

this is my "sunny d post" lol
12790117, Great film....
Posted by NoDrawls McGraw, Fri Apr-24-15 11:20 PM
Felt bad for DeNiro at the end tho....

Like, you can tell he was trying REAL FUCKIN HARD ta swallow his pride and let shit ride, ....but his inner-wolf just couldn't let it go like, "Naw Sun!"...*gets off freeway*.....

Damn Sun......

Still one of the best if not the best and realistically done shoot outs in a film ever. The gun shot echos in that scene are epic
12790440, I'M TIRED OF YALL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE ENDING
Posted by Starks dunked on Bulls, Sat Apr-25-15 08:43 PM
What was so bad about the ending?

There was nothing wrong with this movie. It's a classic.

12790495, THE ENDING WAS FUCKING UNREALISTIC AS SHIT

What criminal mastermind you know says fuck sipping Coronas on a beach away forever, let me go get revenge? A real criminal gets away and enjoys retirement. GTEFOH with this unrealistic ass ending.

At least give us an alternate 15 minute ending where he gets away.
12790520, Al's character had the ill vocab
Posted by ProgressiveSound, Sun Apr-26-15 03:21 AM
I remember watching it when I was younger and being amazed at all the big words he was dropping..i.e 'cathartically'.
It was nice to watch it again later and not need a dictionary.
12790770, Saw it in the theatre and wasn't impressed
Posted by handle, Sun Apr-26-15 08:50 PM
Wanted to see a classic - but walked out feeling like it was mediocre.

No real interest in ever seeing it again

12790838, Disappointing, waste of a great cast
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Apr-27-15 03:35 AM
They made a decent effort to develop the characters and set up the big scenes but to me it fell way short. The details of the film were lacking in a major way. Hackneyed dialogue that I would have expected on some TV cop drama from 10-15 years before the film was released. Limited shared screen time between Pacino and DeNiro, which was intended to intensify the moments but, again, didn't because what they said and did was lame. The movie was also self-indulgent in terms of its length. It's like they had a good game plan and great players but horrible execution.

I will qualify all this by saying that I have not seen the film in a long time. I saw it in the theater and a second time later.
12821714, Just finished watching it again
