12784340, Seated is correct.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Apr-17-15 02:32 PM
I never gave it a second thought because I saw it in print that way and have always written it that way.

I get now the inclination toward deep-seeded as a metaphor, but if you think about that it makes no sense. If you plant a seed deep, it won't grow at all, I mean the plant will sprout under the soil and you'll have nothing.

Deep-seated means that the position is fixed, that its place would be difficult to remove without serious effort that would go beyond the action of simply moving its position above the ground.
12784404, blue...and i worry about y'all

Posted by SHAstayhighalways, Fri Apr-17-15 05:34 PM
otherwise i can see why anyone would think its deep seeded over deep seated
i knew what it was because when i first read it i was shocked that it wasnt seeded and made a mental note of it lol
12784652, exactly man, frank longo hitting me with the less/fewer distinction
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Apr-17-15 09:47 PM
and he is a median range nerd in here.

any which way, like i said ostensibly they both make sense but when you think about the seed metaphor it really wouldnt make a lick of sense, if you knew the first thing about agriculture at least.
