12781550, Aaron Hernandez guilty of murder

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/15/us/aaron-hernandez-verdict/

(CNN)

Jurors in the trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez have found him guilty of first degree murder, which carries a penalty of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Hernandez was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

A verdict has been reached in the murder trial of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez.

Hernandez was on trial for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, whose body was found in a Massachusetts industrial park in June 2013.

Lloyd's family appeared anxious in the Fall River, Massachusetts, courtroom, as did the mother of Hernandez.

As to Hernandez, he sat awaiting the verdict with his attorneys surrounding him.

Prosecutors took months to present more than 130 witnesses to build their case. The defense wrapped its witnesses in less than a day.

Prosecutors say Lloyd was seen June 17, 2013, around 2:30 a.m. with Hernandez and Hernandez's friends, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, in a rented silver Nissan Altima. Later that day, a jogger found his body riddled with gunshots.

Wallace and Ortiz, who were also charged with murder, have pleaded not guilty, and will be tried separately.

Hernandez's attorney, James Sultan, told jurors that Hernandez "witnessed" Lloyd's killing, "committed by somebody he knew," and that the former NFL player "really didn't know what to do, so he put one foot in front of another" and moved on with his life.

Two other men who were drug dealers allegedly killed Lloyd, Sultan told the jury.

Lloyd, who was working for a landscaping firm at the time of his killing, played football for the Boston Bandits, the oldest semi-pro team in Boston and the winner of four championships in the New England Football League, the team's website says.

Evidence collected in Lloyd's death led to two more murder charges against Hernandez in a separate case in Boston. He has pleaded not guilty. That trail is scheduled to begin in May, but officials say it will be pushed back.

if the inmates are lucky there will be an application process to determine his cellmate. he's gonna be in for life - he'll need some companionship. some comforting. someone to hold.
12781564, An old friend (jokingly) argues he's innocent because he's attractive

But one day she said with a straight face and in a totally serious manner, "This is all because Bill Belichick led him down the wrong path."

Whenever I think of her, I laugh at that.
12781568, i couldn't have found him guilty.
Posted by SoWhat, Wed Apr-15-15 09:46 AM
i seriously would've had to be excused from that jury. b/c i'd have spent most of the trial staring at HIM and not paying attention to the presentation of the evidence and listening to the arguments.

and i agree w/your friend - he's innocent b/c he so pretty!
12781570, If Bill had anything to do with Ahern, he woulda got away with it.

Posted by bentagain, Wed Apr-15-15 02:25 PM
from the brief info I saw from the trial

most of, if not all of, the case was circumstantial

given we don't know for sure what was in the box she disposed of...

...but I think it's safe to say she was complicit in covering up a crime

doesn't that make her an accessory?
12782183, i think she got some sort of immunity

He's not getting off in the next trial either. Allegedly, he actually fired the shot in that one.

Same ol' same ol'.

Now if we could just convict some fucking white people (looking at you, cops) who murder people of color.

He got into a fight at a club with two dudes, shot and killed them later that night. The dude he just got convicted for killing knew about the first two bodies and AH was worried he was gonna snitch so he killed him first.

12782996, RE: was anyone surprised he was guilty?
Posted by bentagain, Thu Apr-16-15 01:33 PM
I was

OJ walked with more physical evidence against him

no murder weapon

no eyewitness testimony implicating he pulled the trigger

he was convicted on ALOT of circumstantial evidence, IMO
12783464, he doesn't have to have pulled the trigger
Posted by KosherSam, Thu Apr-16-15 07:54 PM
according to the state law, if he was at the scene and knew they were going to kill him, then he's guilty regardless of who pulled the trigger.

the defense conceded in their closing that he was at the scene, but tried to argue that he didn't know they were gonna kill Lloyd, and didn't say anything because he was scared of them.
12783814, did the co-ds go to trial on the same charges?
Posted by bentagain, Fri Apr-17-15 09:39 AM
if, as you said, they don't need to pull the trigger for a conviction

did those other 2 dopes catch the same charge?

just being honest

I didn't think they had enough evidence to get a conviction
12786255, yeah, they're facing the same charge, haven't had the trial yet
Posted by KosherSam, Tue Apr-21-15 09:45 AM
12787425, for real? nobody took the deal and snitched? AHern must have done it!
Posted by bentagain, Wed Apr-22-15 11:00 AM
12787440, of course he did...no deal really needed to be offered. They got enough
Posted by Cenario, Wed Apr-22-15 11:09 AM
evidence on all those fools but mostly Hernandez since he was driving, was seen with the gun on video and rounded up the crew.
12787449, ahh, that makes sense, go after AHern first = guilty = no deals
Posted by bentagain, Wed Apr-22-15 11:14 AM
still surprised one of these fools didn't outright snitch for leniency

it makes sense now, with a guilty verdict

but there had to at least be an offer without much physical evidence

12787462, yeah i'm a bit surprised about that too but i haven't been following whats
Posted by Cenario, Wed Apr-22-15 11:22 AM
going on with them.

>still surprised one of these fools didn't outright snitch for leniency

maybe they think they'll be able to do better since AHern actually pulled the trigger. They have a better chance getting off than Hernandez. Like the defense Hern's team used (besides the PCP crap) actually works better for the other dudes than Hernandez.

Its possible that they could argue Hernandez just wanted to talk to, scare Odin. They had no idea Hernandez was going to kill him. They were scared too. Hernandez gave them money to be quiet about it etc.

The thing that ruins everyone's defense is that them niggas was sunbathing that afternoon on Hern's surveillance drinking smoothies and playing with Avielle smh
12787504, one of the co-defendants was willing to testify
Posted by Mack, Wed Apr-22-15 11:46 AM

12787419, I've been listening to the trial in full in youtube
Posted by Cenario, Wed Apr-22-15 10:55 AM
and its funny that the whole defense was that these dudes were friends. Meanwhile, that's not a defense that Aaron didn't do it. Niggas kill they friends all the time. Spouses kill each other. Only thing Ahern did right was get rid of the guns
12787501, this ish is funny..defense painting how great ahern is a friend shows
