He has no idea if she's even really remorseful, she has no idea if he's just delaying dealing with this until the fam leaves...you can get a lot more on the table and dealt w/ face-to-face or even via phone call.
Text messages are for making plans or just saying little nonsense to keep the lines of communication open throughout the day. That's it.
