Her village was burned down by the rival clan and she swore revenge.
Now she's at the temple getting slapped around by the one eyed one armed kung fu master until she learns to be a good student.
Eventually once we get past this stage, we can get to the stage where she learns some cool tricks (and people along the way) before the one eyed kung fu master takes out 3,828 badguys in a raid on their temple (but magically gets murked by a poison dart) and she whups ass all over the coast of Westeros using the crane style.
