and i got totally caught up in the 1st segment and sadly i never found out if that 50something year old man is the father of that 20something year old woman's 11th child. the old man's 20something year old daughter was CONVINCED that child isn't her daddy's. b/c he's so old. they cut to commercial before revealing the DNA result and i left the room and when i came back there was a new segment w/a different baby and potential babydaddy.

anyway, i too dig that damned show. when i was laid off a few yrs ago i couldn't watch the show w/o hating my life. but when i'm only at home for a day or 2 and i know watching Maury daily will NOT be my life i can get into it. but i always end up evaluating my life and career thanks to those tv ads for various for-profit 'colleges' and trade schools. plus i wonder if i have a cause of action against ___ b/c of the personal injury lawyer ads. and i think maybe i should sign up for low-cost auto insurance though i don't own a car. but there's an auction happening and they don't do credit checks and i walk away w/a car today....

so she's had a kid every time she could since she could.

and she wanted that old man b/c he cooks and cleans and is good to her. plus his stuff still works.

his daughter wasn't having it though.

Youre right...you really do need to be in a good place to withstand all that.

But as for my dawg MoPo, I like the "teenagers living crazy" episodes the best, but for acute human emotion "you are NOT the father" really brings out the worst in people.

and I have watched enough episodes to know his show is ratchet as hell.

he had an expert on one time and that dude made no sense at all.. I swear, they pulled him off the street.

they're not ratchet but they are relatively low-brow entertainment. and i dunno that was ever intended to be strictly high-brow. and if it was it's obvious that the network moved away from that plan to draw better ratings.

and dr. phil is a charlatan, which I'm sure oprah knows about, but lets him get money so i don't know

I consider shows like Bad Girls Club or what have you to be more on the ratchet side.

We have to see how the show goes. It is sensational and low-brow and possibly exploitive but it can be all of that without being ratchet.

there is no reason you should be rewarded with a show for that shit.

It might be ratchet - like if the babymamas are constantly fighting each other and are not challenged to do better or the daddy turns out to be a deadbeat but isnt challenged to be better. And on and on. I dunno until I see it.
