I have more women friends now. Some of that can be attributed to being a mom, but some of it is because I know what personality types I mesh with. It's not all women, it's some women and some men, for that matter. All of my friends are the type of people who, no matter how long it's been since we spoke, when we get together its instant closeness. People who need daily maintenance and affirmation from their friends don't eff with me.
