Man Listen
----------

Got my bonus check today.
Should be happy.
Can't be though. Taxes suck.
36% off the rip.

My savings account thanks my efforts though.

-----------

President Bush

So the other night, I'm in my son's room as he's getting out the shower and he walks past me parading like most 9 year old boys do at that age being silly. I happen to look down and this muhphucka has Richard Hair.

what 9 year old has hair on his Richard? I screamed and asked what the phuck was it (naively thinking that possibly he rub against the dog on his way out the bathroom. He calmly says "It's because I'm growing".

I put him to bed and went into my room silently sobbing and trying to embrace the fact that my lil' man is little no more.

But yeah, hair on your Richard at 9 ain't the business...and it just ain't no peach fuzz, it's full on shrubbery.

It's something in the chicken yo!!!

------------------
Birthday

My girl's bday is on Monday. I hate birthdays, that goes for mine and everyone elses. Birthdays bring a sense of entitlement and expectation. I don't like that.

You get what I get'cha and if you don't like it, you keep it to yourself (and take advantage of this gift receipt.)

---------
Car Show

Went to the car show last night and drove the new beetle.
uhm, yeah. I'm getting one. Forget how it looks...I really want it. Had my bonus (mentioned above) been a tad more, I'd be at a car lot today.

-------------------

Moving

My lease is up in May. I haven't decided what I'm doing or rather where I am going. I put in my notice to vacate but i still haven't made the first move to find other accommodations. Perhaps, I'll send my son away for part of the summer and then try to find something...

--------------------

Anyway gimme five.

Re: President Bush

Dude, listen. I took my daughter for her yearly Dr's visit. I knew she would get the tetanus and MMA shot, but the doc asked me if I wanted her to get the HPV shot. Totally threw me for a loop. The funny thing is we're always talking about sex and body changes, but for someone else to bring up her age/ maturity level was jarring. And she always talking to me about the hair on her body. I'm cool as a cucumber when I'm in front of her, but screaming inside.

So far he's the only one thats sprouting forestation in his nether regions.

I fear he's gonna be one of those kids who hits puberty young---he'll be the big muhphucka in elementary school and then by the time he gets to high school he'll be the smallest and max out at 5'6" like me.

12764711, What I'm listening to
Posted by Pamalama, Fri Mar-27-15 09:16 AM
Jasmine Sullivan - reality show
When my oldest was in 3rd grade, she started developing, so I gave her an American Girl book that explains how her body will change. Best thing I could've ever done. Although we talk, the book allows her to do her own research. When at the doctor, a discussion about breast development came up. My kid says, yeah, I'm supposed to squeeze them sometimes. Doc looks at me and my daughter like WTF. My kid says 'well, I'm supposed to squeeze the little dot to make sure no liquid comes out'. She was referring to breast examinations. Doc was like, oh, ok. I was so proud of my baby, damn near cried

Tweet - Simply Tweet - EP
I cannot wait for this reno to be completed. It's almost done, but damn if I don't feel like I should be on HGTV on some lessons learned tip.

Ghostface - Fish scale
I love hip-hop and all, but I cannot take the shit that's out here today. I know how my parents feel now. Used to be in order to hear the nasty stuff, you had to buy the Tape/
CD/record, now it's all on the radio. I remember when la-di-da-di came out. NC State's radio station played hip-hop at night. There was so much controversy about playing the edited version at 12 midnight. Now, you can listen to an entire song about fucking in the middle of the day.

Rebirth Brass Band - rebirth kickin' it live
I need to make my way down to New Orleans stat.

Miguel - All I want is you
My mother refuses to provide me with her end of life wishes and she's really getting on my nerves. She knows how this crap plays out and gathers everyone else's info. But when it comes to her will/power of attorney/insurance papers, etc, I can't get a single document. She's scared of something, but the shit needs to get done. Death is not imminent, but it can be unexpected. I want to be prepared when the time comes.

1. I saw a Shakespeare production last night that was really good! I wish more people (black people) were in to Shakespeare even just for the sake of being able to spot a Shakespeare reference in modern day entertainment (like Empire). I went alone, but going alone is always better than dragging someone along who doesn't want to be there. Who laughs inappropriately, doesn't get the actual humor, and complains. Especially since Shakespeare productions can be so long. Are you in to Shakespeare?

2. I doubt I will get any of these new streaming services. Here lately, I just watch whatever I can find on regular TV or Netflix. Haven't turned on Hulu in months. Between those three and the website you gave me last year .. I am good. I don't even watch TV that much anymore. Plus, I can see this whole streaming industry going from being a cheaper option to being a situation where people are forking out the same amount of money per month, but to several different companies. Did you sign up for Sling TV?

3. I have been on this thing where I want to separate food from celebration, just because I don't want those things associated with each other anymore. I don't like going out to eat for birthdays, or even dates really. But that is counter to the society we live in. I also don't like going out the lunch with folks. You want to get together, then lets get together and DO something. Doesn't have to be expensive. Hell, meet me at the park and lets take a walk together. But again, people respond unfavorably to that stuff. How would you respond to someone suggesting you meet them in the park for a walk?

4. I don't pay for shit anymore and I like it. I read some of the strangest things because the books are free for download on websites and list serves I subscribe to. Some of the books have been really good, but most are just weird. What the most recent free find that got you excited?

5.The next 5 days are going to be really busy, but it will be better than sitting in the house depressed. It snowed overnight. I came down the steps this morning like "what is that white stuff on the grass?" Then I was like "it muthafuckin snowed in April! Muthafucka!!" Then i realized it wasn't April yet. How often does that happen?

I signed up for it thru my amazon firetv and got 2 free weeks. I didn't choose to extend it past that simply because I was already getting access to most of SlingTV's content via other avenues---Sure SlingTV made it easier but I don't care about ease of use when content is all that matters. At the time, I was already viewing ESPN and they didn't have AMC yet so the cost of $20 wasn't a selling point. My issue with streaming is that there's no local content. The way my apartment is situated, I can't get a good local signal regardless of the antenna used--that's why I was so hurt when the $8/mo Aereo didn't pan out.

I wish you'd talk to my girlfriend. She thinks every single event has to be over a meal. Her favorite event is brunch. I'm convinced that brunch was created to make black folks (i.e, women feel bougie).

I download magazines all the time. Nothing has gotten me excited recently...wait, I take that back i found a Richard Pryor documentary online that I've watched atleast 3 times in the past 2 weeks.

HA ha...it may as well be april. It isn't much left of March.
12764882, I like brunch though! It is one of the only meals I like for dates. Esp. a first date.
Posted by SuiteLady, Fri Mar-27-15 10:44 AM
first date. Feel like less pressure and you can move the hell on with your day when it is over. I don't do brunch with groups of girls though - they do get a little bougie. Last time I did that was in late 2013 and I couldn't wait to get my check and get the hell away from them broads. I really haven't spoken to the girl who organized it since, lol
12764889, I like my meals to fall under Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Brunch
Posted by Fishgrease, Fri Mar-27-15 10:47 AM
sounds like an expensive option for barely palatable food.

I'm usually the only one at the brunch table orderin' off the menu. I don't like that open hotbar/buffet type stuff.

1. I want an Italian greyhound so so so bad. A little girl iggy would be the perfect companion for my derpy dog.

2. I really enjoy irritating my little brother by jumping into his wrestling conversations to
talk about how hot Roman Reigns is. Life wouldn't be complete without annoying him at least twice a week.

3. Had a meeting earlier this week that left me so inspired and motivated. It was the push I needed, and I enrolled in school.
Now I need someone to kind of... cheer for me sometimes.

4. I am so grateful right now.

5. I've applied for another job that's got near-perfect hours for me.
If I get it, I'll be back to my old budget that allows me to pay for school pretty easily.
Granted, that's 2.5 jobs, but the way they're scheduled... I can really do this.
My life should be truly changed for the better within a year. Finally, I can see that for myself.

one.
so it looks like i won't be needing that divorce advice i was asking for the other day. at least not for now...gonna hear him out later over dinner. there's a lot to what brought us here but i'ma keep it light.

two.
can't wait to go visit my homegirl and her new baby next saturday! he's so cute and i miss her. haven't seen her since her christmas party. gotta make more of an effort to see my friends in general.

three.
we started writing for our next EP. we have decided that short concise projects with cohesive themes is good for us right now. can't wait to perform again.

four.
i have different themes that constantly reoccur in my dreams. one of them is playing basketball. most likely because i played basketball for many years as a kid. although i haven't played basketball in over a decade i have these type of dreams pretty regularly. well this morning i dreamed that my team beat this bougie ass team that was mad rude to us. but that's not the interesting part. rather than a trophy for winning they gave us each this huge bottle (like the length of my torso) filled with alcohol and ice and inside the bottle was a little bottle of bacardi. hard to explain it but needless to say i'm a lil bit mad its not real.
gonna have to draw it. maybe get a patent for it. i've never seen anything like it. and i want it.

five.
finally figured out what was making my sons eczema react so crazy. four cats and a dog live here (the cats mostly stay outside but they come in to sleep). one of those cats is a long haired cat. like really long hair. for a long time he rarely came inside but over the last few months he has barely went outside. he sheds a lot so even despite cleaning and sweeping up everyday his
hair was just floating around irritating my sun's skin bad. once i made the connection we don't let the cat inside (only in the garage) and the boy's skin over the last week has cleared up considerably. he still itches from time to time but he's so much better. i'm so glad. i've cried a few times over the last few months not being able to get him to stop and watching him scratch til he was bleeding. shit was stressful as hell.

i'm LOLing @ president bush
i'm not ready but i got a few years to cross that bridge lol
12764887, diaper rash creme worked wonders for all my eczema flair ups.

and it was working well. he'd go with his dad and be clear but then come back here and it would just be horrible again.
the A&D works wonders though. shea butter is good too but it rubs off too easy and has left a yellow tinge on a lot of his clothes lol

that Boudreaux's butt paste has done wonders in my household, while not the cheapest. It works but then again most of the stuff that has zinc in it has brought about results.

If you're asking for the in office hook up (which I don't mind giving, if it's not detrimental to my paycheck)...don't ask for said hook up via company email and then get mad at me when you don't get what you asked for.

I'm not hooking you up if there's a paper trail that can easily be traced back directly to me.

I can stretch and bend certain rules and functions of my job to assist others but to ask for it thru a recorded and captured service--Naw partner, you's on your own. Your inability to be scrupulous and careful has now led way to you getting a textbook response and denial.

1 - the meeting this morning wasn't bad. i wish i didn't worry about things but if i can't visualize solutions i'm going to worry. i guess i literally need to let go and let god.

2 - since joining instagram and following a limited number of people i am constantly amazed at the profiles that pop up under search based on people i follow. i know all the naked gay boys are from the drag queens i follow but yesterday my first thot popped up. it was all bare asses and pictures of her son :( i'm like who is this based on??? lol

3 - everytime i think i'm managing my time well...NOPE. panic has set in.

4 - easter is really next wknd. doesn't mean much since we don't have good friday off anymore. plus my aunt moved out of state so no easter dinner either!

5 - i really don't know what i want to do with my life. thinking about transitioning to a new career but i have no idea what. i just don't want to do what i do now anymore. i don't think...i don't know. ugh.

I haven't heard from my accountant yet so who knows when I'm getting my refund :-/

as always music...

~ Adventure for 2

Man, yesterday was wild, I lost my shrooms, my son got sick, all felt bleak as fuck and then just like that, it got better but also crazy. There was the loud ass walk-in with mad questions, my bike race in Prospect Park, horror movie watching shenanigans thrown in, and a random roommate's passed out boyfriend that needed 911. Most days I can't believe my life is real.

~ You Ain't Gotta Lie (Momma Said)

I'm glad I was honest about my feelings and just where I am in life... my mantra every day continues to be "single life, still amazing"

~ Till It's Done (Tutu)

I'm gonna get real at my job and ask for more shifts this weekend. I work hard as shit and I deserve it. If they can't hang then I'll let them know that I'm skating soon *shrug*

~ Take Your Time

I can't wait for Tuesday night, I finally bought all the hair I need for these Havana twists I'm planning on busting out. I just hope I can pull it off cuz if I can't get the technique right, we'll just go for Patra/Poetic Justice braids and dassit.

~ u

I still dunno what the crux of my issue is but other folks are starting to notice that I may not be in harmony. I had a drink with my brother yesterday and it definitely helped whatever's going on but *shrug* my foundation ain't feeling that A1 right now.

I'm so looking forward to that.

1. I busted my work phone in Mexico city last week. I brought it to IT and they were talking bout charging me $600 to replace my iPhone 5 but had to call finance first. I was about to shed real tears at that damage and then yesterday dude from IT comes by and brings me an iPhone 6 for the free. I gave dude the most inappropriate work hug. I already have a 6 as my personal phone so the hug was really more about saving my ass $600.

2. My sinus pressure has been so bad lately that one side of my face will go numb. Shit is that serious. I'm going to see my allergist again Friday. But may be time to remove these adenoids.

3. I'm at home from work due to food poisoning. I don't know what did it to me yesterday but all I ate outside of my home was some chicken and dumplings, so I won't be going to that place for lunch again.

4. I woke up at 3am thinking about some work stuff. Couldn't get back to sleep until I sent an email addressing it. I know the person who got that email was probably like: what the fuck? This couldn't wait?

5. I haven't been back to school to see my family as much as I usually do since Christmas. Part of the reason is that I've been gone two weeks each month for work so when I have a weekend off the last thing I want to do is travel. But that's not fair to my mom or my nephews. Next week I'm gonna make that trip.

I feel you on that Beetle. I think the last gen one was cool at first. But it eventually kinda fell into the "novelty" trap. This new one has aggression and hits the mark a lot more.

1. Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, m.A.A.d City
------------------------------------------
Man, taxes were a breeze this year. I thought it was about to be some BS, when my town joined the regional tax collection cartel. But it was business as usual.

2. Joey Badass - B4.DA.$$
-------------------------------------------
I was rolling up 271 North after dark this past week, and I got nostalgic as shit over the 1st couple years I spent as a resident up here. I don't know why, maybe it's remembering the endless grind. Those days weren't exactly the free-est or the greatest. But that whole stretch from Mayfield back up to 422/480 had me remembering how exciting it was to be so far from a place I called "home" for over a decade.

3. Black Milk - If There's A Hell Below
-------------------------------------------
I feel like I'm really emerging from a dark place, perhaps the darkest in my adult life. I'm not confident I'm completely out of the muck, but damn, a little positive reinforcement is going a long way.

4. Jodeci - Forever My Lady
-------------------------------------------
Fuggit, I play the "New Jack Swing" side of this record often. "It's Alright" and "Treat U" are favorites. Only 4 days left.

5. Kanye West - Yeezus
-------------------------------------------
Volvo 4 Life, but the Ford Focus ST is calling me.
The new Ford Focus RS? Not just calling me, but filling up my voicemail and blowing up my text messages.

There's a funny article I found where the official press photos had '90s R&B playing in the stereo: http://jalopnik.com/the-2016-focus-rs-is-a-nasty-freak-that-loves-80s-and-9-1683499795

I don't know why I like it so much. It's a hatch, so fuck you.
It's powerful as shit, so double fuck you.
It's blue as shit, so triple... you get the idea.

But it's ridiculous.

The Golf R is all of that, but reserved and "grown up". Probably what I appear to so many in public, but is so not the truth.

I love that side...and "X's We Share" is for ever gonna be my jam.

and yes, 4 days. I've already got it pre-ordered.

*Biggs at Rocafella

- i was hanging out with my 14 & 15 year old daughters and we were talking about celebrities. they said that when they were kids, which was funny to me because to me they're still kids but i get what they're saying, they used to think Jay Z was just the guy married to Beyonce. now they realize Jay Z not only stands on his own but his accomplishments may outweigh his wife's.

they think Kim K is famous for being famous and that Kanye's ego is hugely over-inflated. i reminded them that Kanye is one of the greatest musical talents of his generation so it makes sense that he thinks highly of himself. they think he's good but not that good.

*Praz with the Fugees

- i can't wait for the NFL schedule to come out. i'll be buying alot of single game tickets. gotta go see my Cowboys play in philadelphia and i'll fly to Dallas to see my squad smack DC's football team around. i'm starting to dislike the name redskins. i'm almost ready to join team #namechange

*Aquaman

- business travelers with expense accounts act a damn fool. that's when i pray that there's another scotch drinker in the group so that we can order the best stuff they got. and usually the people with the higher positions insist on grabbing the tab. i work for a non-profit so i let them...

*Eric B who was with Rakim

- today i saw a lady nod off at the ATM. people behind her was mad & cussin and one guy got up close to her and started clapping his hands. she came to and started her transaction again...then she nodded off again.

shit was hilarisad

*U-God from the Wu

- karma is just something people hold on to in their attempts to feel like good will triumph over evil.

it usually don't.

i've come across some devious mofos that do well because they're cut-throat and they're willing to snake anybody if it serves them. and nothing comes back to bite them. they're doing just fine and when you run into a little later, they'll probably be doing better.

are they absolute assholes? absolutely. but it serves them...
