handshake dap pound.

occasionally he'll give me a hug and kiss me on the cheek before dartin' off wherever it is that 9 year olds dart off after they've awkwardly shown affection.

we probably say " I love you' to one another 5 or more times per day.

12763742, When my Dad started doing that with me, I felt like the manliest man ever
Posted by Marbles, Thu Mar-26-15 10:49 AM

It was a HUGE thing for me, when my Pops started treating me a little bit like he treated his boys.

My pop still kisses us on the cheek. I'm 35 with two younger brothers ages 33 and 26. If I had a son I'm sure I'd do the same.
12763696, I will if it's a boy

their mom a kiss goodnight when they (or we) are going to bed.

now, as they get older, it changes a little. my mans cj2 (a college freshmen) would give me more like a good night head but, but its all good.

we've made it a point since they all were little to tell them we love them and be demonstrative as well.

peace & blessings,

it's hard for boys to let their guard down in those types of situations.

man Fatherhood is sooooo important! Y'all can be some amazing douchebags sometimes, but y'all are some great fathers :-)

backhanded compliment I know :-)
12763954, I don't even have or want kids, and this post is giving me a warm fuzzy
Posted by mrhood75, Thu Mar-26-15 12:59 PM
12763986, Yes, every morning they wake and every night before bed
Posted by Challenger, Thu Mar-26-15 01:23 PM
Sometimes in between. I am also a hugger and they don't always embrace back, lol ...

One thing I know for certain is that they (5 & 2yrs old) will never have to question their father's love and appreciation for them.

Posted by tariqhu, Thu Mar-26-15 01:35 PM
put my 10 yr old daughter in a playful headlock and she has to squirm to get out. I'll do it randomly like while walking in the mall. she loves it and I love doing it.
12764086, this is great too.
Posted by John Forte, Thu Mar-26-15 02:14 PM
12764093, my nephews are big as shit now and we still give bear hugs
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Mar-26-15 02:17 PM
My Mom, their grandmother..was real big on giving proper hugs.

No cool hugs are allowed.

Shit, we called each other up to SING happy birthday to each other until they turned 21. Too cool to sing but they huggie as shit.

We lost their grandmother in a car wreck so we take pride in those hugs. When I got up to speak at my moms funeral. I was too weak, my nephews held ME up.

and now I'm misty
12764152, they must be pumping onions

12764097, Yup...He's 3
Posted by RexLongfellow, Thu Mar-26-15 02:22 PM
Everytime I get home from work, and when he's about to leave for school. I remember one time I didn't do it and he started tearing up...little man thought he was in trouble.

I won't stop. He'll always know that Dad loved him to no end
