12759728, Darren Sharper plead "no contest" and got nine years
Posted by Rjcc, Mon Mar-23-15 02:43 PM
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12544551/darren-sharper-gets-9-years-arizona-plea-deal

remember this, when you ask yourself "why didn't the victims come forward?" in other cases about celebrity serial rapists.

evidence. victims across the country with the same story. there were still cases tossed out - http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2014/05/15/darren-sharper-miami-rape-investigation-closed/9131091/

And his attorneys had all kinds of explanations -- he had a prescription for what they found, he didn't make the drinks.

this is what happens even when the rapist admits being a rapist. in 2015.

did they lump all the accusations into one case, or can he still be tried in the other states for it?

w/ the sentences served concurrently in federal prison, so that's it. unless he gets more time somewhere else?

I can't follow what you're trying to say in your post.
12759765, he was a serial rapist
Posted by MrThomas43423, Mon Mar-23-15 02:57 PM
so no. i don't think that's enough time. 5-7 years per victim for a total of 20-28 years.

From the Florida State's Attorney:

"It is a one-on-one allegation. It is a delayed disclosure. The subject has made no admission...No physical evidence. Inconsistent statements made by the victim regarding knowledge of the people she was with night/morning of the incident as well as her description of the sex itself. No corroborating witnesses, despite detective's best efforts to locate the people the victim said were present the night/morning of this incident."

What is a DA to do?
12759891, but talking night/morning of "the incident?" there were 9 incidents
Posted by MrThomas43423, Mon Mar-23-15 03:44 PM
i found this interesting, cause one of the ladies he raped was in Louisiana. "Louisiana law states that a person convicted of committing aggravated rape shall be punished by life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence." and that's a wiki link so it may not be 100%, but if it is its....convenient they didn't charge him there. and i don't thin k he deserves and conveniences.

wonder if he raped before the reported cases.
what goes on in the mind of a rapist? did
he wake up one day and say, 'yeah, i want
some drugged ass?' how did he reconcile
his thoughts/actions? and this dude was
gainfully employed before/during/after?
to get only 9 years after all of that is
completely bonkers.

12759902, I think cats that rape by drugging fall into two categories
Posted by PoppaGeorge, Mon Mar-23-15 03:49 PM
1. Niggas that have ZERO game and have been rejected/clowned for having no game. As I said below, those dudes didn't have good male role models to put 'em up on game and teach 'em how to talk to women or let 'em know that it's ok to get rejected.

2. Niggas that believe themselves to be God amongst men and are, somehow, deserving of the pussy no matter what.

Posted by PoppaGeorge, Mon Mar-23-15 03:31 PM
The reason a lot of these niggas turn to drugging women is daddy and other strong male role models were absent from their lives and were never taught that you get a woman with your words, style, and what you project not by drugging them. If she ain't with it, there's likely a half dozen at the spot that are; keep it moving and don't get obsessed with one chick at the club, bar, or wherever when there's plenty more that are feelin you.

Also, it's ok to go home by yourself no matter who you are. You can't win at everything every time.

... which is another lesson learned from a good male role model.

If she ain't tryin to fuck with you, even if she's at your crib, then so be it. Shit ain't worth a potential rape charge.

I was taught that from my pops, stepfather, and one of my uncles. If she ain't with it she just aint; don't press the issue. Chill and let her bounce. Maybe she comes around, maybe she doesn't but either way there's other women out there.

... a man.

Not just any man either, 'cause when pimps, drug dealers, and hustlers are the only male role models you have shit is bound to go wrong.

My moms tried to tell me some shit when I was younger, but none of it meant as much as when my pops sat me down and gave it to me. One of my uncles stayed on my ass about shit growing up.

Yeah, moms was there and trying to teach me shit, but she typically deferred to my father, stepfather, or uncle to give it to me straight.

I've known plenty of dudes raised by single mothers that came out well adjusted, but far more that would have benefited from positive men in their lives (i.e. the Big Brothers program, church groups, etc...)

Dude should be under the fucking jail....9 years????

WTF????
12760044, prosecutors had weak cases, mostly.

It makes sense.
12760051, so pleading out makes sense???
Posted by PoppaGeorge, Mon Mar-23-15 05:25 PM
if he knew that, why not try to fight it and bank on the prosecutor's case being too flimsy to convict you? I know the risk is huge but convictions can be appealed and could be overturned in your favor if it comes to that.

>if he knew that, why not try to fight it and bank on the
>prosecutor's case being too flimsy to convict you?

Bc defendants are convicted with weak evidence everyday. And if he loses any one of those trials he was facing more than 9 yrs probably. Plus with the facts alleged he was not getting any sympathy from a sentencing judge (or 4), let alone a jury (or 4).

I suspect he decided not to take the risk since the prosecutors made a sweet offer.

I know the

Louisiana law states that a person convicted of committing aggravated rape shall be punished by life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.

he would have been out there in 90 weather 90% humidity picking cotton, diggin ditches, trimming trees, digging graveyards at the poor folks cemetary, road work, etc.

he was smart to take a plea deal.

Posted by SoWhat, Mon Mar-23-15 05:34 PM
If he chose to fight any of the weak cases he would've had to fight the stronger one(s) too. If he lost he likely faced more than 9 yrs. This way all the prosecutors get a conviction, prison and parole And the defendant avoids significant prison time and embarrassing trials.
12760067, if the accusations somehow hadn't been linked to him
Posted by Rjcc, Mon Mar-23-15 05:36 PM
