she's talking about what happens when spouses stop trying to make themselves attractive for each other. when they give up. when they start taking each other for granted - at least when it comes to the physical aspects.
it communicates something to your spouse when you stop trying to seduce them. when you don't give a shit about being sexy for your mate. it says a lot. it hurts.
