I'm old school preppy, so I've been rocking that sockless deck shoe look forever.

There have been times where I glanced down and realized I wasn't properly lotioned up...ashy ankles aren't the move.

but it definitely looks better without socks unless you are up on your sock patterns

keep the shoes from getting stinky and you can't see 'em. those things are great.

but the always seem to come off my heels. what brand do you use?

i don't know what brand mine are, i think my wife picked em up from journeys. vans has them, i may give those a go this spring/summer.

i've also found that some of the socks stay up better than others so sometimes i have to put em on and see. if there's any slip in your shoe the socks are gonna be halfway down your foot by the time you step out the house.

yep, then you have to adjust constantly. I'll try the sperry's to see if they work any better. since they also make boat shoes, lol, I'm hoping they make better no show socks.

they got a lil rubber strip on the heel part to keep the sock from falling off

Either they are not true no-shows and peek out the top or they are and it leaves you vulnerable to friction around your achilles and you get get those annoying little cuts there or irritation near the bone at lateral side of your ankle. At least I find that.

those shoes will walk by themselves after a sweaty day with no socks.

I used to shoulder bump the shit out of dudes wearing flip flops or fur coats (remember those?) in the club. Dudes standing in my way with their toes out trying to look manly. lol, okay dude.

They look like slippers. Like those Toms that dudes were wearing a few years back. Like a dude can't run for the train without worrying about his feet coming out of his shoes. Like a dude gotta dodge pebbles on the sidewalk, or else it'll hurt like hell to step on them. I'm good.

I ride a bike in to work tho, so shoes for me serve a very utilitarian purpose.

I hate those kind of boat shoes to begin with but any type of canvas-esque shoe with no socks is self-hate and a crime against humanity. Leather ain't helping matters much.

Honestly the no-socks look is generally terrible. I have seen some dudes pull it off with leather loafers, I guess, but I would never do it.
