Let's go.
Post a great song by a not so heralded artist.
This is one of my favorite songs by anyone....
I've ridden many a day with the sunroof open, windows down at 9 pm while letting this Memph Bleek song blast through the speakers.
This should've been a single in 2000 especially since Carl Thomas was at his peak at that moment. Failed moments of an A&R, i guess.

Drake's verse is straight murder. The beat is dope. Love this song.
Rick Ross, otherwise, is extremely average but he puts out some jams from time to time, this one being my favorite. I don't particularly like Drake all that much either but I definitely recognize his talent level.

I honestly don't feel that Ross has been mediocre since he spit on "devil in a blue dress". While he may have had songs I didn't care for, he's been spittin' far above a mediocre level.

I'm not saying "mediocre" as in he can't put words together. He just bores me because he raps about the same topics every single time out. It's always the same bullshit. I can stomach it for like a song but after that I'm like OK - time for some new information. Haha.
As for Drake, I would never call him mediocre. He's clearly mega talented. But I just don't particularly like him.
But - my response was about Rick Ross more than Drake anyway. Just being clear.

He can spit but he never follows topics (see: Accident Murderer on Nas' "Life Is Good" for a prime example)...and in fact only raps about the same 3-4 topics each time out. Credit to him for making a career out of saying the exact same thing in every single verse for the better part of a decade but he's totally uninteresting to me and the only thing that ever draws me to his music is the beats he rhymes on.
