my FIL is essentially 2nd in command from an operational standpoint (runs a satellite branch, on the board, oversees the treasury and some other departments) so my wife was in that church for the majority of her life
i knew they split off from an AME church but i never thought about the implications you mentioned above. any ammo i can get for when i get into it with them about me not being a church dude are helpful though
them being non denominational is one of the things my FIL tried to sell me on once upon a time
