A lot of people, included me, started like this with Case_One. Took it to the inbox, tried to keep it civil, but became exasperated with the level of copping out and condescension. It's symptomatic of the kind of approach that drives Christians from Jesus and non-Christians from interacting freely with us.

The extent to which church leaders can hurt the faithful was a strong theme of Jesus' time on earth, and definitely got Him mad. I think Christians ought to do better than copping out in the face of poor behaviour from fellow Christians, or condoning the promotion of such viewpoints with silence.
