A more direct answer to your question was I don't think my dad was as unnerved by it as I was. I think there was a certain degree of professional friction between them, although they were all "Doc this, doc that" in person, that comes with being in two different stratospheres. My dad is a better human being, better preacher and smarter man than Long but lacks his ability hustle people out of their hard-earned cash the way Long did/does. I am thankful for that.
