i dunno that we need more balance in the reporting - i think we push for more spotlight on racist bullshit b/c the way i see it the media and the general culture does what it can to ignore the existence of racist bullshit unless we put pressure on them or unless the facts are so aggravating folks are reminded of prior incidents where we applied pressure on them to act. that's part of what motivates ppl to keep the pressure on and not let up when it comes to these stories. so i get it.

i think this story is worth telling b/c it can be used as an example of the sort of action we're pushing for in the wake of racist bullshit. but not b/c i think the university or the frat's act is reflective of where we are as a society.
