taking responsibility and suffer the moral consequences (i.e, feel bad about it).

What a comedian decides to make fun of is a personal decision and has moral consequences and they should weigh that out before deciding to make fun of something.

I don't believe there is a blanket "it's just comedy so I am absolved of feeling bad about my work" exception.

It was true when we made fun of people at school. It is still true for a comedian as an adult.
