12743695, I bet white folks felt mad uncomfortable watching Scandal tonight
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Mar-05-15 10:04 PM
actually they probably just changed the channel once they saw that it was Olivia takes on Ferguson.

shit was aight though. heavy-handed of course. but it reminded me of what the show was originally like.

of course they're gonna go back to the regularly scheduled stupid plotline that's running this season.

12743698, I didn't watch this

but I'm glad you said this. The first season of this show was actually legit. It was going to be about a crisis expert and her team. They would be "cleaners" so to speak for rich and powerful folks' scandals. But then the show decided to become a full blown soap opera that resembles nothing of that first season show.

i havent cared for this show at since they switched, and that was early on
12743749, Didn't love it beside the father character...
Posted by Sarah_Bellum, Fri Mar-06-15 01:13 AM
Olivia has these moments of morality but I won't forget that she "sent a klan of good old boys to kill own father" (c) Rowan. She's on my list for that one and won't come off for a whille. . She ended up in a slave auction for heavens sake....

12743759, daddy raising and pointing that shotgun made it unrealistic
Posted by LAbeathustla, Fri Mar-06-15 02:45 AM
bcz you he'd a been a goner irl
12743929, a whole lotta stuff on that episode was unrealistic.
Posted by SHAstayhighalways, Fri Mar-06-15 10:30 AM
but it definitely started with that
12743949, most stuff on that show are unrealistic.

12743951, this episode was based the most in 'reality' than any other episode
Posted by SHAstayhighalways, Fri Mar-06-15 10:47 AM
hence why i phrased what i said that way.
12744115, best episode they've ever done
Posted by atruhead, Fri Mar-06-15 01:13 PM
sad that a fictional administration show got it more right than Obama did

when Olivia said "I lived in fear of dying for a week being kidnapped, some people fear dying every day" that was perfect

the only thing that could have been greater was a rest in peace Michael Brown/Trayvon Martin message at the end but that's asking a lot out of ABC

they really went all the way there from the point of view of police, activists and hurt parents though
12744120, fictional admin dealing w/fictional Congress
Posted by SoWhat, Fri Mar-06-15 01:20 PM
and fictional implications of the President's actions.

so yeah, it's much easier for the fictional president to 'get it right' in a fictional case like that one.
12744127, i appreciated the cops speech on respect
Posted by labcoat, Fri Mar-06-15 01:27 PM
that is true
it is needed to be said

the perspectives that they came from on this episode
was definitely needed
12744130, which cop? the murderer?

12744132, it was Olivia's Blackest moment on the show.
Posted by SoWhat, Fri Mar-06-15 01:29 PM
she's always been Black but usually her Blackness is defined by the fact that she's the only Black in the room. or the only Black woman. we've not really seen race addressed for real, it seems. i realized that b4 last night i didn't know where she'd side in the Race War. now i know - i saw last night.

12744135, i was hating hard on the episode until
Posted by SHAstayhighalways, Fri Mar-06-15 01:31 PM
she went and chanted with the people.
she's not gonna be angela davis but i'm not mad at how they handled this episode at all.
12744139, i really liked it.
Posted by SoWhat, Fri Mar-06-15 01:34 PM
12744387, really??? she was never not gonna roll w/ black.
