Not gonna bother with looking on different screens tho. Calibrating my monitor for Photoshop has shown me that damn-near every screen will display color differently.

however the black/brown reads as gold....

checked the file size. its pretty small.

Well, let's take some of the subjectivity out of it.

I color picked a sample area from each color.

The "white/blue" is RGB 126, 35, 164, which in no way, shape or form is 240, 240, 240 white. It just isn't. It's not even gray. It's undoubtedly some form of blue.

The "gold/black" is RGB 109, 90, 50, which in no way, shape or form is 0, 0, 0 black. Indeed, it's very much in the gold realm.

So, the dress is blue and gold.

Plug those numbers into your favorite RGB color display (for instance http://rapidtables.com/web/color/RGB_Color.htm ) and see for yourself.

I'm seeing blue and black, however I've also seen two different versions of this dress.

In both, however, the blue is definitely blue (132,150,186 in a lighter area) and the black is different depending on where I sample it at (90,71,54 in the last area), which -is- closer to being a grey but with a slight brownish tint to it.

Anyone seeing white is delusional.

Then I went to another site and it looked white and gold...but the longer I looked at the dress went lavender and brown to blue and black very gradually.

Whether you saw the above dress as blue and black, or white and gold, someone has almost certainly told you that you’re wrong. But you’re not, and neither are they – it’s both colours, depending on who and where you are.

Having more of one or the other will lead you to be likely to see the dress as white or gold, or blue and black.

To put the idea to the test, look at the dress on a page with a white background. Then head to a dark room for half an hour, before looking at the dress there on a black background – or just never come back, and avoid the whole argument.

The lighting in the photo causes some people's eyes to discount the blue shades of the dress and see white.

Even still, the actual dress itself is BLUE & BLACK. Period. The color of the physical dress isn't up for debate. The picture is what's open to interpretation.
