12736552, I'm strugglin like shit to make it through the last eps of Parks & Rec.
Posted by placee_22, Thu Feb-26-15 10:11 AM
There's some good in there, but they shoulda let it die after last season.

I'll be back with more.
12736568, I'm with you, but
Posted by initiationofplato, Thu Feb-26-15 10:28 AM
I couldn't even make it past episode 2. The show totally fell off for me.
12736650, There are some legit GREAT episodes in this last season
Posted by Dae021, Thu Feb-26-15 11:43 AM
That Leslie and Ron episode is right up there amongst the best of the entire series.

The jount where you see JAM is incredible, and Save JJ's might make you realize just how much you love certain characters all over again.

There is a ton of heart which might be throwing folks off, but there is some excellent work in this last season.

12736656, Agreed...

I mean, they did a whole episode around the Johnny Karate Show. And the finale was handled very well. Personally, I think it was a drag when Rashida & Rob Lowe were about to leave.

My girl is a HUGE fan of the show and she sent me this link of the best recurring jokes from the show.

Man, the murals in their municipal building are HILARIOUS. And Lil Sebastian? Comedy.
12736662, Absolutely, they managed what could've been terrible
Posted by Dae021, Thu Feb-26-15 12:01 PM
Into fresh territory with not to distant future.

They even managed to round out Ron. Ron Swanson was a movement but he wasn't a rounded man. They allowed you to really see him and how his wheels turned. It was a great payoff for one of the best characters in recent tv landscape.

I think being able to see more Retta is a GREAT thing to me, so losing Ann wasn't a huge hit in my book. I liked what the show became, and I Leslie Knope will always be funny to me.

They've handled everything with great taste. That extend treat yourself shit man listen.

There are so many great sight gags in this how that just add texture to pawnee.
12736554, i need to learn to watch Better Call Saul w/o thinkin about Breaking Bad
Posted by BigJazz, Thu Feb-26-15 10:15 AM
12736584, Haven't started watching yet, is it a good show?
Posted by initiationofplato, Thu Feb-26-15 10:37 AM
Is it even close to Breaking Bad?
12736612, better start than breaking bad. odenkirk is killing this shit.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Feb-26-15 11:08 AM
12736643, really eh??

Hmm I should get into this.
12736563, My Regular Rotation:
Posted by placee_22, Thu Feb-26-15 10:22 AM
HBO:
*Girls: meh; It was never my kind of 'good', but now it's becoming intolerable. I hope this is the last season, but it'll probably go 2 more knowing HBO.

*Togetherness: I love it but hate it. I'm rooting for the fat guy only at this point. The other 3 main characters, I want to drop anvils on all their heads.

SHO:
Took the week off for the Oscars, I guess. But all 3 shows been great so far.

MAX:

Banshee: Guiltiest of pleasures, but I'm locked in. That last ep was one of the best action sequences I've ever seen on TV.

Other Cable:

Walking Dead: I'm still holding on. This half season been way better than the last 1.5, IMO.

Better Call Saul: I like it, but don't love it so far. I may wait on this one and watch a bunch on demand later on.

Justified: Deserves it's own post

Suits: good season so far.

Sirens: Funny as shit, but nobody's talking about it.

Broadchurch: see Justified

*** I watch way too much TV

"SHO:

What are your three from SHO?

Shameless
House of Lies
And what else?

I know it would be tought from a production standpoint but Shameless and House of Lies should have a new episode every week without taking a break.

Matt and them have been in a comedy zone. It's the funniest show on TV right now.....
12736587, RE: Episodes

Gotcha! Showtime has impressed me. I got hip to Shameless and House of Lies a year ago. I watched the first two or three seasons of Shameless over the course of two weeks so that I could be hip to what was going on last season. Someone told my lady about it. We've been hooked since.

House of Lies got me watching when I noticed an ad with Cheadle in it. Never knew SHO was dong such good work. I stuck to HBO prior to catching these. I may need to peep Episodes now.

Shameless
House of Lies
Ray Donovan
The Affair
12736594, I've screamed they're better than HBO for years here
Posted by Geah, Thu Feb-26-15 10:47 AM
very few agreed...

I would have to agree now especially considering the fact that Boardwalk Empire and Newsroom are off the air for good.

I have heard the Masters of Sex series is pretty damned good as well. I've got that set aside to catch up on soon. Need to watch em though before they get three seasons deep.
12736625, they were better even then
Posted by Geah, Thu Feb-26-15 11:20 AM
Dexter
Weeds
Nurse Jackie
Big C
U.S of Tara
Brotherhood
Ray Donovan
Homeland....
12736635, i really miss U.S. of Tara
Posted by dapitts08, Thu Feb-26-15 11:33 AM

>U.S of Tara

sometimes i think about rewatching it but then i remember i'm just gonna be mad all over again by the last episode lol

12736641, yeah, SHO has pulled the plug early on a lot of good shows too. But they've
Posted by placee_22, Thu Feb-26-15 11:37 AM
hit their stride since.

Tara, Brotherhood, Barbershop, Meadowlands all should have gotten longer runs.
12736665, MEADOWLANDS man i forgot about that show
Posted by Geah, Thu Feb-26-15 12:04 PM
i was all into that shit...it shoulda got more love..
12736609, The tide started turning around the time Sleeper Cell came out.
Posted by placee_22, Thu Feb-26-15 11:04 AM
By the time Brotherhood, Dexter, Weeds, etc. hit it was a wrap.

12736628, Sleeper Cell was GREAT
Posted by Geah, Thu Feb-26-15 11:23 AM
that and Brotherhood hurt my heart when they left...
12736570, black-ish... Man, last night's episode was ridiculous.
Posted by Creole, Thu Feb-26-15 10:30 AM
I found it to be the funniest episode of all. Andre was snappin like shit. And taking the higher ground was not the smartest move especially cuz he got punched in the ear as a result. He should have finished the main kid that was bullying him.

Guess whose mom I found on Tinder? LMAO

only in the face. That shit had me dying.

And Dre's and Charlie's snapping on the white cat in the conf room was crazy too. He had me rolling when he went in on Mr. Stevens. Boss Man shut that shit down quickly.

TRACEE ELLIS ROSS!
12736615, Geah and Creole beat me to it, but my plan was to make a post solely on
Posted by placee_22, Thu Feb-26-15 11:13 AM
the subject of how much HBO sucks now.

They have had a really poor (IMO) string of shows the past 2-3 yrs.

I'm guessing it's a money thing, but the area where they used to DOMINATE Showtime - the 1 hour drama - is pretty weak now.

Don't even get me started on the sitcoms/dramedies. They cancelled Bored to Death after 2 seasons, but is gonna let Girls run what's looking like 6 seasons? Why?

They're kinda becoming the Fox of pay cable. Cancelling all the good shit way too early and green-lighting shit that probably shouldn't go beyond the pilot.

And if I see one more gotdamn Jaime/Summer Heights High/ Angry Boys bullshit ass show, I may cancel my subscription.
12736653, Oh yeah....It's Always Sunny.....
Posted by murph71, Thu Feb-26-15 11:52 AM

was on some classic shit last night...(spoiler.....) Matt's old man doing a threesome with Charlie's mom....I was dying....
12736682, What i'm up on
Posted by Dae021, Thu Feb-26-15 12:18 PM
Sitcoms:
New Girl
Mindy
FOB
Blackish
Behind on Modern
Transparent
Its always sunny has been excellent this season.

I'm really waiting on playing house to come back.

Drama:
Stalker has been really good and surprising I think people are missing a really good show there.

Madmen about to come back
Game of Thrones about to come back, young I can't wait. I've realized this might be the only thing i watch on HBO these days other than their documentary series because the shows don't always grab me.

I've been catching up on Orphan Black. If you're not watching Tatiana Maslany, then dog I can't help you. She is putting in the most work of any Actress week to week. This is not debatable. She's absolutely killing everything.

12736898, New UK show: Cucumber (from writer of Queer as Folk)
Posted by blackrussian, Thu Feb-26-15 03:17 PM
comedy-drama about a middle aged, interracial gay couple going through a relationship breakdown, and all the people in their lives.
So. Fucking. Hilarious!

I'm 5 eps in, but here's the trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7iP9gA4u9c

Plus it's got a side-show, called Banana, about/from the perspective of some of the more minor characters in Cucumber, and a side documentary series, called Tofu, about sexuality in general.

I need to catch up on Girls, Broad City, Black-ish & FOB. Is anyone still watching L&HH?

I just came back to post that.

My evening will totally be devoted to "How To Get Away With Murder". Period.

12737276, Technically its friday...
Posted by Tiggerific, Fri Feb-27-15 12:39 AM
Im so sad that HTGAWM is now on hiatus until next season. Tonights episode just blew me away.

Loving Scandal still. I'm glad that Olivia is mad at the Prez for being pussywhipped into going to war.

I love Empire...though i kinda hate it too...only because its on Fox and it seems that dude who writes it needs therapy. I love Lee Daniels and I wish him nothing but the best out of life. But if that trash can incident really happened to you. You need therapy!!!! Every black man does not hate his son for being gay.

Since these are the only shows I'm allowed to watch...due to most of my days being spent watching kid shows, these are the only shows I can talk about.

Oh, but I'm about to add House of Cards to the rotation. And, I will just have to dvr Single Ladies when it comes back on next month. But, the munchkin will be put to bed when Game of Thrones comes back on my television.

One more thing...if you don't have the El Rey Network...you are missing out. It is the shit just because of the constant rotation of Shaw Brothers movies. :)
