it sounds like it would be too trial-y and will still have the criminal mystery element cause they reopen the trial. so yeah...i'm a fan.

I feel like I want a prequel season (series), but I guess they covered everything.....

12734692, gotta watch the finale tonight. That last episode had me on edge.

Claire is batshit crazy. Her and that Ricky dude.

Also, Jocelyn got game. I knew what it was as soon as I saw her and Maggie out having a picnic. Maggie tryin to talk all that the feelings gone shit. Jocelyn was like...nah.

12734788, theres a season 2 of this?
Posted by Kevin26_2, Tue Feb-24-15 12:47 PM
season 1 was so depressing, i'm not sure i can handle anymore
12734823, yeah it just finished last night..
Posted by Geah, Tue Feb-24-15 01:04 PM
12734793, also, Happy Valley and The Fall were pretty great
Posted by Kevin26_2, Tue Feb-24-15 12:48 PM
on the subject of british cop shows.
12734803, I was kinda mad that there's just one season of Happy Valley
Posted by placee_22, Tue Feb-24-15 12:55 PM
it was pretty good.
12734820, after Broadchurch i started watching Happy Valley
Posted by MrThomas43423, Tue Feb-24-15 01:03 PM
got thru 1 episode. it seems good, but i find British cop shows so....inept. like on that first episode at one point she went and parked the car instead of rolling up on someone like a real cop. don't know if that's my Americanism speaking, but it didn't feel believable to me. and that made me kinda frustrated.

12734826, yeah, you gotta watch em w/ different eyes.
Posted by placee_22, Tue Feb-24-15 01:08 PM
Luther was like that for me at first too.

12735426, thats kinda the point
Posted by Kevin26_2, Wed Feb-25-15 12:11 AM
their cops over there have to follow actual rules, so they rarely roll up and start cracking heads.
12734943, Couldn't wait...lol. The finale was really good.
Posted by placee_22, Tue Feb-24-15 02:21 PM
12734959, man i saw a season 2 link up last night already
Posted by Geah, Tue Feb-24-15 02:29 PM

i love these damn uk shows lol
12735060, sad to say i have all the eps on deck but
Posted by dapitts08, Tue Feb-24-15 03:17 PM
my schedule has been so crazy that there hasn't been much tv watching going on

i can't wait until i have a weekend i can just binge watch all of them

*runs out post so i don't catch any spoilers* lol
12735072, I've found the second season a little frustrating
Posted by Nodima, Tue Feb-24-15 03:23 PM
in the way Luther can be frustrating, but the actors are all so good it doesn't bother me too hard. I have a huge crush on Danny's mom (and low key on Jocelyn too...) and get a laugh out of almost every face Nigel makes. It's the first time I've seen David Tennant too and I can see why he's so popular over there, he just has a real interesting way about him. Like he's really cool but also a huge dweeb. Miller (I always hear Muller!) is a great actress too, she got a perfect screaming session in about halfway through season 2 (avoiding spoilers for those people who play by the rules).

Thanks for the reminder that the finale was last night.

If I have seen Gracepoint.. should I just skip the whole first season?
12735114, No!
Posted by placee_22, Tue Feb-24-15 03:56 PM
UK version is superior IMO. They did a damn good job on the Fox version tho.
12735123, if you're a fan of architecture and cinematography I'd say no
Posted by Nodima, Tue Feb-24-15 04:03 PM
I haven't seen Gracepoint but I did do some reading up on it and I know the pilot at least is a shot for shot remake of the first episode, or as close as it can be on a different continent. One of my favorite things about Broadchurch is how clever all the scenery is though. Especially season two, I was SUPER bummed out to read up on the sets and learn they were using a university library for the courtroom. It's such a cool way to present a jury trial, I'm still curious if it's totally made up for the show or they actually put the defendant on display like that are dystopia style in Ireland.

Plus, perhaps most importantly, I also read they changed who did the deed from the original, so you'd be very confused by what's going on in season 2 if the accused were a different character.
