12733867, so ppl who have cut the cord, how do you watch sports?
Posted by blkprinceMD05, Mon Feb-23-15 12:54 PM
seems like between netflix and hulu and box set dvds most of what cable provides can be had without bowing to comcast

but say i want to watch a hawks game? the only sports/sports related stuff i watch on tv is hawks games, braves games here and there, nfl, sports center and around the horn...

how do yall see that type of stuff when u dont have cable

(back story: im in a real nasty way with comcast, they actually owe me money at this point but its been a long NASTY road lol, im holding out til google fiber is up and running)

I like to sit up front. Sometimes in front of the second row.
12733875, as someone who watches a relatively obscure sport...I use rain
Posted by double negative, Mon Feb-23-15 12:57 PM
of the TORRENTial type
12733877, this is the most out of touch i've ever been regarding sports
Posted by MrThomas43423, Mon Feb-23-15 12:58 PM
especially the NCAAs. its partially my fault cause if you get a ESPNgo password you can see all the games that they show as they show em. college and pro. but without that....i've been slipping.

if anything the f*rstr*w.e* is usually good. lotta pop ups you gotta navigate thru, but when you get the screen, its pretty reliable. and they have all sports.

edit...we can't use the names of the sites? i had no idea.

it's true what they say...people are strange, when you're strangers.

not compassionate....only polite.

I am not like you at all and i cannot pretend.

12733883, adblock takes care of popups

12733903, the row hold me down when i'm stuck at work and games are on
Posted by SooperEgo, Mon Feb-23-15 01:18 PM
12734046, the row is the reason I haven't paid for a PPV fight since 2009.

12733879, Only watch Eagles games on Fox with a converter box on my tube
Posted by 8-bit, Mon Feb-23-15 01:00 PM
I'd have to be really depressed before I sat around and watched any Phillies, Sixers or Flyers games, so I'm good with just the converter.

I actually never had cable in any of my apartments, so I never really had a "cut the cord" moment or whatever.
12733881, b*llstreams for NBA and MLS Live
Posted by hardware, Mon Feb-23-15 01:00 PM
everything else is f*rstr*w

all Chromecast compatible

b*llstreams is cheaper than league pass and a great alternative if you live in the city of your team and the games are blacked out.
12733886, I don't care about picture quality, so I watch streams.

12733890, Mostly in person or at a bar
Posted by justin_scott, Mon Feb-23-15 01:05 PM
I've gone to more nba games this year than ever. Lakers, Warriors, Kings, and soon Trailblazers, all seen on their home court. Lakers and Warriors more than once.
If its anything of an important game, me and some friends will hit up a sports bar. Also, I have nba league pass on my computer, and Internet sites to watch stuff if needed.
12733898, http://atdhe.ru/ if XBMC somehow fails me.
Posted by initiationofplato, Mon Feb-23-15 01:10 PM
XBMC is your answer, I made a post about this already in GEAH's post from a while back about streaming.

IF you don't want to set up XBMC, use:

12733915, Sling includes ESPN

I got a chance to use it this weekend at a rented house in the woods that had no cable, just WiFi connected Smart TVs. The log in worked with the built in DishWorld App built into the TV--the service is certainly worth the $20 monthly fee.
12733945, at Hooters. Buffalo Wild Wings. The Elephant Bar.
Posted by infin8, Mon Feb-23-15 01:56 PM
actually going out in public has been the trade-off.
12734211, I was tryna to avoid this route but yeah
Posted by blkprinceMD05, Mon Feb-23-15 05:16 PM

12734328, RE: so ppl who have cut the cord, how do you watch sports?
Posted by Tiggerific, Mon Feb-23-15 08:40 PM
OMG I can't wait for Google Fiber to hit Dirty Durham!

But, we can't cut the cord. If we get rid of satellite, how will be be able to watch our Detroit Lions on a weekly basis during football season?!

So, Direct Tv = Ball

House of Ampy = Chain

And we are connected to that bitch for life!
12734331, i would totally do direct tv if i could
Posted by blkprinceMD05, Mon Feb-23-15 08:45 PM
apartment community wont allow the dish installation tho
12734440, Roku 3 + SlingTV = ESPN/ESPN2/TNT/TBS
Posted by LegacyNS, Tue Feb-24-15 06:45 AM
that's all I really need with locals. Getting ready to let go of my DVR, get a HD antenna and completely eliminate my cable package.
