Not sure if it was his advantage in the looks department or better timing or just better roles but from a career perspective, I don't think it's very close.

However I think a lot of Pryor's talent was wasted as a result of not having those same advantages. This is maybe like a Sam Cooke vs Otis Redding type argument. I dunno. Let's face it Pryor was in some weird spots, I had heard (from someone who worked at a high level in Motown films and other studios) that Pryor did so much blow and, as a result, borrowed so much from the studio that he did Car Wash and Bingo of All Stars as a two for one.
