Age of consent is 16 over here and it always seemed pretty appropriate as a teenager; plenty of my female friends dated older and plenty of my male friends dated younger when I was in my early 20s... I can't see myself being attracted to a girl 15 years younger than me, but I really don't see a problem if they both go in with their eyes open.
People are just desperate to be outraged about something they have absolutely no connection to.
