12732046, Ok NOW what do you think of my Instagram pics?
Posted by lightworks, Thu Feb-19-15 07:32 PM
Did this post a minute ago and got great feedback.

Varied my posts up and don't focus so much on subway stations and sunsets anymore.

Feedback greatly appreciated!

12732050, some of them are excellent, but would be so much better

w a real camera and better skills?

but composition so on point

like this https://instagram.com/p/zI_W7REwqi/?modal=true

like i understand the pursuit of gram fame is its own legit thing in 2015, but a true photography skillset would likely be powerful thing for you to have for other broader art purposes
12732158, Broader art purposes like what?

i dont understand what youre asking
12733252, "real" camera ? Are you a camera snob ? lolz
Posted by neuro_OSX, Sat Feb-21-15 09:27 PM
What is a "real" camera ? You might wanna be careful with that, I've see amazing shots done with an iphone, I've also seen tons of horrible shots one with pro level Canons and Nikon.

The camera is the least important thing in photography, its that thing 2 inches behind the camera that matters.

Perhaps less dismissive elitism and more positive critical analysis.. ;-)

12733587, instagram is made for phone cams
Posted by SHAstayhighalways, Mon Feb-23-15 02:04 AM
unless youre a photographer displaying your photographic skills anything more is just not necessary

edit: after actually seeing the pics i def dont think she needs to go out of her way to use a "real camera". phone cams now adays are good enough to bring out the "artsy" without the extra if you have a good eye. her pics are nice. not sure how far shes trying to take it but not everybody needs to have a nikon to take nice photos
12733690, i specifically clarified that i realize ig is its own thing
Posted by dba_BAD, Mon Feb-23-15 10:34 AM
but complimented her eye for composition and mentioned that advancing to professional photography could be a good look

what was wrong w that jeez
12733694, nothing's wrong with that. i misread wat you wrote cuz it was late lol

Nice images, though regardless of what I or anyone else thinks, how do you feel about your images, are you capturing scenes they way you want?

Is there anything about your images you are unhappy about or want to improve ?

good stuff
12733288, They're okay. You'll never achieve IG fame with these for several reasons.
Posted by isaaaa, Sun Feb-22-15 03:24 AM
1.) You're kinda late on the IG/VSCO train. If you were doing this in 2010 you might of had a chance.

2.) There is kind of like NO SOUL for these pics. They are good photos, but it's a gazillion people in the world taking these kind of "artsy" photos. I see good flicks, but it's nothing to them, anyone with a steady hand and a few filters could do the same thing. But the talent is definitely there, so keep grinding.

3.) I have 2 accounts a personal account with 5K+ followers, and an art/photo account with 43k+ followers and I was uber late to the party on the latter.

4.) You might not want it.

Posted by double negative, Sun Feb-22-15 02:00 PM
how you do that?
12733585, I kind of have two answers; 1.) Totally by chance,
Posted by IsaIsaIsa, Mon Feb-23-15 02:01 AM
I used maybe 2 or 3 hashtags at first max.

2.) I have two VSCO pages, at one point 2 years ago I would get selected at least twice a month for their grid, and I my photo got featured on VSCO's IG as well. But not my personal page, my other one. So it could be that.
