My uncle was in a position where he wasn't easily replaceable due to being really good at his job, which happened to be a position not just anybody could do. He had enough leverage to where the company would cut him slack compared to the workers that could get replaced. He wasn't the type to abuse his situation but he did have them by the balls to where he could've if he wanted to.

The type of stunt Mo'nique pulled is the thing an A-lister whose starring roles are guaranteed to get butts into theater seats has a better chance of pulling. She must have thought that Oscar win was going to give her leverage.
