Maybe, it's just an image that some portray, but I have never known of as many whites wearing their religion on their sleeves as Blacks. Of my peers from work, I would say that at least 80% went to church regularly, compared to maybe 30%; I'm being very generous. I'm not religious at all, but I know a lot of Black people that I have met outside of the church that are pastors, ministers, etc.

Even on social media, I only see sistas posting about church and scriptures. I mainly hear Black entertainers and athletes talk about god, casually. The white ones that do, Tebow, Kirk Cameron, etc, seem more extreme. Again, maybe it's just something that is ingrained in us to put on display and secretly, we're just as apathetic lol

I remember Bush trying to align himself with Black churches during his election campaign because they opposed gay marriage, as well. There are many sources for it, but this one explicitly states it:

"A Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies poll in 2004 found that blacks by a far larger margin than the overall population opposed gay marriage."
