12721385, Why isn't Making the Band Season 2 on DVD or streaming anywhere?
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Feb-07-15 07:52 PM
the season when Puff put together the rap group.

I'd pay for that shit right now, for the comedy. Smh. And no, I don't want the Best of Dvd.

Other shit that I impulsively wanna watch at one time another and either can't find or its wild expensive:

The later seasons of the Chris Rock Show.

And why is California Dreams so expensive. Like $40 a season. Is it Criterion? Are Prince & Sade providing commentary while the a Dreams fake play music.

12721391, Making the Band S2 is probably unclearable for DVD

Not that it's impossible to clear it for DVD, so much as it is too expensive to clear it.

California Dreams seems reasonably priced at $35 for a 5-disc set.
12721396, Man, Dream should be $20. Tops.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Feb-07-15 08:23 PM
12721398, It's $7 a disc. That's pretty standard.
Posted by b.Touch, Sat Feb-07-15 08:33 PM
The popularity of the show doesn't determine what the price is. If anything, the price may go up if the show is less popular, or the print number will be severely reduced (which may also cause the cost to go up).

When Warner Bros first started selling the Hanna-Barbera shows on DVD, they were $50 each for 4-disc DVD sets. Eventually, they learned to start selling them as 2-disc sets for half the price.
12721392, California Dreams?

12721486, I wanna see the one where he put together Day 26
Posted by Krispee, Sun Feb-08-15 09:51 AM

but just one scene in particular, that's all I wanna see!!

I've googled and youtubed and I cannot find that clip or scene.

It makes me fucking mad, cuz I really wanna see just this ONE scene/episode.

12721498, The marathon freestyle battle?
Posted by Teknontheou, Sun Feb-08-15 11:21 AM
12721503, naw, these are the singers
Posted by Krispee, Sun Feb-08-15 11:41 AM

its like one of the last battles before they pick the final group and they're performing in front of Mike Bivins, Diddy and some others.

and Robert GOES OFF. His singing is soooo beautiful, it gave me chills every time I watched it.
12721539, Like the finale?

12721559, I think it was one of the last episodes
Posted by Krispee, Sun Feb-08-15 02:48 PM

before the live finale

it was an impromptu challenge from Diddy, he just came in the room and started making them sing for their lives.

its been so long

12721560, Ahh

I remember the part he sings really good in the finale but not the battle..would love to see that too

The thing I hated about those singers and most amateurs they rely too much on runs..I feel like thats a church choir thing tho.

I just wiki'd it. it was Season 1, episode 8. I remember googling that episode and coming up with nothing.

Robert definitely had that church voice. Everytime I heard him sing, I'd think "my Grandma would LOVE that boy!!"

too many runs can ruin a song, but if each run is damn near flawless? or if the harmonies are unusual (I don't know if I'm explaining myself well, I'm not a musician/singer, but see: Candice Glover's live performance of "Love Song" on American Idol) I gotta give them props. LOL
12721786, Nah I understand
Posted by Heinz, Sun Feb-08-15 09:49 PM
I just think it's a crutch like a growl lol people will growl and do runs cause the average ear people will be impressed. White girls will do it to try and show they got soul lol it's just funny to me , it never impresses me when people try to show me singers

Posted by SsenepoD, Mon Feb-09-15 01:13 AM
Mike was trying to lose weight but got caught eating 2 grilled cheese...I vaguely remember diddy coming in catching him
12721537, As evidenced by Daria and a few other shows
Posted by hardware, Sun Feb-08-15 01:43 PM
Home video wasn't really a priority for MTV at the time so music wasn't cleared for that kind of distribution. that may be the case.
12721653, Let's talk about the show in hindsight...

...

Every artist on that show regrets their actions... They have to because they messed up a lot of paper. The two most famous members of the group both took Ls. Choppa is more famous for his choppa suit than music. Ness took an L to DNA and hasn't been seen since. I'll let someone else slander Sara.

Another two gold albums cements them as a group with a future.
12721687, Choppa suit - never not funny

12721871, Ness might have set the East Coast rap scene back getting yoked out by

Freddie P. At the very least, it was somewhat symbolic of the transition occurring in the commercial rap game. The bigmouth East Coast bully had been vanquished. The South was finally free to let their nuts hang.
