Justin Bieber released a video Wednesday night via Facebook, apologizing for his "arrogant" behavior during the last year and a half.

"Just being young and growing up in this business is hard," the pop star said. "I really want people to know how much I care about people."

He said his behavior was largely an act to cover up his feelings: "When I say pretending, often we pretend to be something we’re not as a cover-up of what we’re truly feeling inside... And there was a lot of feelings going on in there. Just being young and growing up in this business is hard. Just growing up in general is hard."

The full, dimly-lit video runs about one minute, 40 seconds. A heads up to young Bieber fans out there: His language gets a bit graphic at times.

The singer filmed the video after appearing on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which the singer said he was nervous about. “I was really nervous. And I think I was nervous because I’m just, I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now,” Bieber said on Facebook.

On "Ellen," the singer brought DeGeneres flowers and Calvin Klein underwear for her birthday, and discussed his recent decision to be the subject of a Comedy Central roast.

"I think it's cool to be able to laugh at yourself," he said. "I just want to own up to some of the things ."
