somebody ask for the **best** hotel IN new orleans the type of repsonses they get:

1. stay in BATON ROUGE it's just like being in the French Quarter!

2. i stayed at the homewood suites in Slidell and it was nice.

3. why don't u just air b'n'b? i got a nice spot in biloxi.

4. the ritz/monteleone is your best bet

i don't know about yall but when i turn 40 i want to say "GOT DAYUM!!!!" not just when i walk into my suite but when i walk into the hotel LOBBY
ritz/monteleone is some basic shit you see everywhere
every W i've been to has made me say "OH!"

i want to be able to come in at 430am still be hype as fuck and possibly bump into other muthafuckas that be MORE HYPE than me.
TURN UP!
curfew is 9:30PM at the ritz or the general mgr will be ringing your phone asking you to turn the volume down on the tv as it is past lights out.

the best way i've learned to ensure a GREAT room in a GREAT hotel is to slide the check-in person a GREAT tip

example,
if i priceline a lil $100 room at the marriott i'll put a folded $20 bill between my license and credit card before i hand it to them and be all chatty
they will know what the deal is when i ask "i was wondering if you all had any suites available?"
i got good success with that
but at upper end hotels you better come with a $50 or sometimes a $100 because they aint trying to lose their job over no $20 but $100 can pay their light bill!
plus, when you think about it, a suite at The W is like $500+ a night at the Ritz it's about that much or $600 depending upon the nights
so, if you slide them $100 and you're staying there 3 nights, that's only a $30 a night upgrade instead of $250-300 per night upgrade

i've actually had people DECLINE my $100 because there wasn't any available suites
so what they'd do is put me in a room with a better view or something just for me asking

last summer at the W in san diego
i asked and got a nope
checked in
went to a regular room
left for lunch
came back

and the same agent that said no was like "welcome back mr. boram, we've upgraded you to a suite and we took the liberty of moving your things for you. here are your new keys"
walked into the room and the above picture was on the living room table
upon check out, i saw the $35 a day parking fee was removed as well
that saved almost $200!!!

oh so later that night we were walking back from dinner and saw the agent that upgraded us was walking to her car as she just got off
i gave her the change from dinner
it was $70 something odd dollars
she wouldnt take the $100 at the front desk counter earlier
(the GM was standing there)
so she actually got shorted a lil bit for waiting

the view we got at The W in Hoboken because there were no more suites
