HARLEM (PIX11) — A Brooklyn man was arrested Tuesday after making a gun gesture with his cellphone at 2 NYPD officers in Manhattan in an attempt to show his friends “how easy it would be” to kill a cop.

Police say 2 uniformed officers were stopped at a red light on West 125th Street in Harlem in a marked police car just before 9 p.m. when a green 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer slowed to a stop next to them.

The car didn’t pull up fully next to the police car, but idled near the rear of the passenger side.

The 26-year-old cop at the wheel looked over his shoulder and saw the Chevy’s driver with his “arms extended before him, both hands clasped around an object that appeared to be a weapon, and was pointing it at the head of the cop closest to him in the police car’s front passenger seat,” according to police.

The driver then made a shooting motion before driving away.

“I absolutely thought we were dead,” the officer, who has been on the force for 3 years, said.

When officers pulled the car over, they found Unique Johnson, the driver, along with 6 of his co-workers at an energy sales company.

Johnson told officers the object he pointed at them was actually his iPhone in a dark blue case.

When questioned, Johnson reportedly said he wanted to show how easy he thought it would be to shoot an on-duty cop.

Johnson has been charged with menacing a police officer, harassment, disorderly conduct and aggravated unlicensed operator for driving with a suspended license.

Since detectives Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were shot dead in their patrol car in Bed-Stuy last December, the NYPD has investigated 126 threats against cops in the city, resulting in nearly 30 arrests.
