12698421, hey..ask me stuff. or just say hi.
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 11:53 AM
i have a killer migraine and have lots of writing to do so i'll be here for a hot minute.

could use the e-company
12698429, i'm sure staring at the computer screen is great for migraines.
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Jan-14-15 11:56 AM
hope you feel better. i rarely get headaches and have never had a migraine, i can't even imagine.
12698435, thanks. yeah it definitely doesn't help
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 11:57 AM
i realize i'm staring at some sort of screen most of my day. that's terrible. i gotta curb that somehow.

how you liking the new job?
12698444, so far it's great!
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Jan-14-15 11:59 AM
mostly doing training etc right now and next week i'll be shadowing, but it's all good so far.

and we all stare at screens far too much. all of us. ugh.
12698496, excellent. congrats again. i know it was weighing on your mind

12698443, happy new year!
Posted by blackrussian, Wed Jan-14-15 11:59 AM
any resolutions? how you doing with sale shopping? i seem to recall you saying you were gonna experience your first xmas day celebrations with friends - how'd it go?
12698457, happy new year!
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 12:04 PM
the christmas(es) were so much fun! two friends invited me over and i went to both. so much food. so much fun. i really enjoyed 'em.

i've been stalking lots of home/furniture sales cuz i'm moving in a month. trying to have all "grown up" stuff/furniture, which is proving to be quite expensive, naturally.

how are you?? do you have resolutions? i don't really do those..

i had wished for a "calm and utterly uneventful 2015" and it's been everything but. lol smh
12698486, ooh home furnishing/decorating is so exciting!
Posted by blackrussian, Wed Jan-14-15 12:12 PM
i spend many hours on interior design sites & pinterest. tell me more, what have you got so far? what do you need? i think i'm in the wrong career.

uh i don't have specific resolutions but i have general aims like 'drink less, work out more' but that's more of a constant goal than a new year thing! haha. Although i think i'm gonna get a p/t again. Do you still use one?

why has the year got off to an eventful & non-peaceful start?
12698519, oh god, wanna do it for me?!?
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 12:19 PM
i'm soooo indecisive and want everything. sometimes i want a moroccan/turkish themed room. then i want a beachy one. then i want an almost WASPY hamptons look. i'm a fucking mess.

i need someone to just do it and be liek "aight, this is ur place now. enjoy" lol.

the problem is that it's a new building and i chose the place based on a bueprint. i FINALLY get to see it this friday, at which pt i can get the bigger pieces like couches, a bed, etc.

i've got a full kitchen. minus this blender i really want but costs a grip. since when are blenders so damn expensive??

-

i only have a few PT sessions left which i'm hoarding. i'm gonna use them as 'tune up'. i've been surprisingly good on my own. let's hope it lasts lol.

-

girl..NYE...i'm not even gonna put myself on blast like that here. imagine all the skeletons in your closet being at the same party & they got a bone (ha!) to pick with you.

12698575, haha if i were there, i certainly would
Posted by blackrussian, Wed Jan-14-15 12:39 PM
just move in and feel the space for a while. you don't have to get everything all at once - in fact i think it's better to wait until you find stuff that you really like rather than feeling you need to get everything & have it immediately finished. and it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive with all those different themes - you can find a way to bring elements of different styles together. main thing is that you like it & it's functional. also, just make a note of spaces/pieces that you like - could be in magazines, other people's homes, even public places, and steal their ideas! lol

haha leave your nye skeletons/bones in the past. i don't think the new year starts until AFTER the party/drunken shenanigans are over!
12698715, lol i know that's the responsible thing to do...
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 01:20 PM
it's just so tempting to do it all now lol

but you're right. i'll just get the essentials and take it from there. so boring ;)
12698447, hi

12698451, why don't you do the 5 Day Challenge anymore?
Posted by BabySoulRebel, Wed Jan-14-15 12:01 PM
:(
12698464, i really should. i HAVE been working out though.
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 12:06 PM
i just keep forgetting to log back

i've actually been more consistent than i've been in a long, long time.

are you still working out?
12698469, yeah been keeping the challenge alive somehow
Posted by BabySoulRebel, Wed Jan-14-15 12:07 PM
I've been mixing some bodyweight circuits I found on BuzzFeed with this 5k training program off Nike+ Running.
what are you focusing on these days?
12698484, you don't make posts anymore tho, do u?
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 12:12 PM
maybe i missed 'em

i've kind of fallen in ... like.. with resistance training so i alternate leg & lower back and upper body days. mostly weight machines with some free weights stuff thrown in.

my new form of cardio is doing 20 mins of 1-2 minute sprints. much more challenging IMO and i'm not wasting an hour on a treadmill, which is torture to me.

i used to go to spin classes which i loved, but that gym closed down and this new one doesn't have great classes. womp.

do you enjoy running?
12698587, the T in treadmill stands for torture
Posted by BabySoulRebel, Wed Jan-14-15 12:43 PM
I didn't think I would enjoy running much when I started but I've come to love it. I only run on tracks now since I need that added element of pushing forward versus running in place. I'm very lucky that my local Parks Dept recreational center has an indoor track and also have an outdoor track within a short walking distance of my place when the weather gets nicer.
The last time I ran on a treadmill I wanted to fall off the face of the earth, I hated it that much.

I kept the posts going in GD for a spell then migrated over to Organix when that board was created. Every Monday I try to put up that week's post, there's one for this week up right now. Feel free to jump back in at any time!
12698718, the treadmill is a little easier on my shot knees than the ground
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 01:21 PM
i'd love to run outside, but i would destroy my knees

i shouldn't even be running, period.

i'll check the post out! i'm going tonight and i'll report back :)

12698506, Hello.
Posted by Dr Claw, Wed Jan-14-15 12:16 PM
I've kicked around the idea of "appearing" in Toronto sometime in Q3 2015.

A lot of work must be done to get that point.

12698613, you should!! when was the last time you've been?
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 12:52 PM
12698722, I believe the first year digit was still a '1' when I was last there

12698621, oh like Goody's. i was so confused lol
Posted by cgonz00cc, Wed Jan-14-15 12:54 PM
Ive obviously never used BC but Goody's is the shit
12698626, Man listen...I've taken many drugs over the years for migraines still
Posted by Fishgrease, Wed Jan-14-15 12:55 PM
nothing offers the relief that a BC/Goody's does.

BC more than Goody though because they have caffeine which pushes it through your system quicker. I don't even drink sodas but I'll quickly drink a monster energy drink or a coke + a BC when I have a migraine.
12698648, caffeine actually constricts blood vessels
Posted by cgonz00cc, Wed Jan-14-15 01:00 PM
Dilated vessels in the brain are a common cause of headache

In a pinch its a decent headache remedy on its own
12698666, are you the doctor or the lawyer? i get y'all mixed up

And since bills don't stop because of a sudden migraine, I often have to opt for quick relief, though one time I had to go to the emergency room because I had a migraine that was totally uncontrollable....
12698686, oh i know the magic of Goody's...just didnt know of the BC brand.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Wed Jan-14-15 01:08 PM
And all i was saying was that if you are ever powderless, heavy caffeine works by itself, rather than as a catalyst

Migraines arent really a thing for me and im never NOT grateful for that

looking for a new car

looking into schools

looking into moving to Canada. Me and h.e.r. were talking about it one day.

signing up for all them market research joints y'all were posting (thank you)

Have you ever lived in the US? California?

I HAVE NO IDEA where to begin looking. Moving to a new continent seems daunting.
12698819, why canada?
Posted by nayaa, Wed Jan-14-15 02:23 PM
i always wondered how easy/difficult it is for americans to move here. it's pretty hard for us to move down south.

i haven't lived in the US. if i would, i'd prolly live on the west coast. just to try something totally different.

i'd likely be most comfortable in chicago. it has a toronto vibe.

they need a cure for this shit. ever been to a chiropractor? it's the only route i haven't gone yet. was thinking about it the other day b/c when i get migrianes, i also have an overwhelming urge to crack my back/stretch. i dunno if there's a correlation. i'm just desperate.

12698739, Actually yes, just not Toronto.
Posted by WarriorPoet415, Wed Jan-14-15 01:34 PM
Then again maybe I did. When I was a kid I went to Detroit. And our relatives there drove us into Canada. So whatever part of Canada is near Detroit, been there.

Also I went on an Alaska cruise two years ago and one of the ports was British Columbia. Man, that place was clean. Even the bums on the street were relatively clean.

But what freaked me out was the food court in the mall.

i'll be right in an hour
