12695085, to defend Kendrick, Black People's self respect

needs to be defined and appraised. Clearly we all have "self respect" but we also have a 400 year history in this country where we have gone through an experience that influences our behavior and how we demonstrate our self respect.

Self respect shouldn't be and isn't required to keep someone from killing a person or group. However, self respect does and should activate a group to not only defend themselves and their "selfs" but be willing to offend others for the sake of liberation.

Knowing Kendrick's perspective and output, what I got from the statement was that any liberation we get isn't going to come from the oppressor, nor from actions made after the fact. We gotta be fully committed if we are going to break this cycle, and stop asking and start taking. Maybe we need to reevaluate the self respect we possess and push towards its 100% actualization, because given our history in this country, even more is required of us based on what we're up against.
