At one point Nike had circulated rumors that they were going to replace their standard Air technology with ALL tuned Air. Yet they pretty well abandoned the project within two years, and they abandoned it entirely (unlike Shox, which just sort of fell back). For a long time they didn't even do proper reissues of these:

I got some OG pairs of these and in contrast to most regular Air Maxes their age, they have held up very well throughout the shoe

I actually thought that the technology was better for basketball shoes, much better.

I picked up a pair of these recently and they also have held up way better than their Air Max counterparts

This was the pinnacle of Tuned Air IMHO, great shoe, I still have a couple pairs:
