I said BullShit
yes, I know they are violations
but they are BullShit violations
which in the end, have lead us here
so if the BullShit violations cease
and NYers go on with life as normal
doesn't that beg the question
what the fuck is the point of having the same number of officers in uniform?
you are familiar with the Garner and Gurley murders, yes?
if the police force is reduced
maybe a citizen doesn't get strangled to death for 'allegedly' selling untaxed cigaretes
and maybe a citizen doesn't get murdered for walking down the hallway
etc...
can you see it?
most reports I've read have violent crime at an all time low
so if we are employing officers just to write tickets, for speeding, pissing, etc...
is that really where you want your tax dollars spent
for quotas
in targeted neighborhoods (you think this shit would fly if they enforced the same BullShit violations on the Upper East Side?)
not to mention, those interactions
are leading to an epidemic of violent crime by police
you really seem to be making a circular argument, IMO
as are the NYPD
I would guess that a report like this is the intention of the NYPD to instill fear in the citizens of NY
OMG, the cops aren't arresting anybody anymore (yes, I know you still think they are doing their job clandestinely)
ANARCHY!!!
I just don't think it will have the intended effect
and will end up backfiring on the NYPD
