i get the context - turn the rhetoric up to 10 and keep it there so as to light a fire under ppl who might be operating on like a 3. the hope is to get them fired up to at least a 6 or so b/c that might spur action on their part. and those who are already at like 4 or 5 will move up to a 7 or even 8 and get moving. those who already at 8 or above will just remain hot and moving.

i have to remind myself of this when i read/hear activist rhetoric. i tend to want to temper it a bit b/c the heated rhetoric can also fuel the flame of the opposition. but fuck the opposition - we need our base fired up. so fire away.
