strong, smooth coffee made with a good quality bean thats been quality roasted, made in my aeropress, add in spoon of coconut oil and a small pat of grass fed butter and blend = the richest, most creamy deliciousness ever that is actually GOOD for you.

my life is has changed because of this method.

a cup of this coffee alone is probably about 10x healthier than your current breakfast, and it has the calories to match (think meal replacement).

Have a cup of this stuff, and have a GREAT morning with no crash later!!

here's my formula:

aeropress best coffee maker in the world. basically its a manual espresso machine so you're making americano's.. which if you've ever had one.. you know they taste waaaay better than drip coffee.

aeropress: http://aerobie.com/products/aeropress.htm

coconut oil: coconut oil is rich in MCT (medium chain triglycerides) which bind with the caffeine molecules and release them slowly so you have no crash. There are many health benefits to MCT's which you can see below in the details. :)

grassfed butter (UNSALTED):

Grass-fed butter. Rich in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a fatty acid produced by ruminants like cows, it’s been implicated in many studies as having beneficial effects. Grain-fed cows do not produce as much CLA in their milk as their grass-fed counterparts. Grass-fed butter also contains an Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio that’s basically 1:1 (that’s very GOOD). If you’ve ever seen pale (almost white) butter, the poor stick of saturated fat is lacking in beta carotene. Where to get bright yellow butter? You guessed it, cows fed on grass. In addition to all this, grass-fed butter contains more fat-soluble vitamins like K2 (which is converted from K1 by cows).

Directions:

Prepare the coffee, scaling the recipe up to suit your needs. I use the aeropress and make it nice and strong. my personal brand of coffee is an award winning local roaster: http://www.blackcoffeeroastingco.com

Pour hot coffee into a wide-mouth mason jar. Add the grass-fed butter and coconut oil, plus any extras like spices or sweetener if preferred.
Blend for 30 seconds with a hand blender (I have a Braun) until frothy and creamy (use caution when using a blender with hot liquids).

prepare to have your life changed.

DETAILS:

Health Benefits To Bulletproof Coffee:

Fat Loss Anyone? Medium-chain triglyceride (MCT), found in coconut oil, consumption has been shown to lead to greater losses of the adipose tissue (fat) in animals and humans.

More Energy For You! Studies have shown that the fast rate of oxidation of MCFA (Medium chain fatty acids) leads to increase energy expenditure (EE). It is absorbed differently in the body as opposed to long chain fatty acids.

Eating Fat Will Make Me Fat…NOPE!! Greater energy expenditure with MCFA relative to long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) results in less body weight gain and decreased size of fat depots after several months of consumption.

Why Grass Fed Butter? Fresh grass in the cow diet improves the rheological and nutritional properties of butter. The nutritional value of butter is improved by the proportion of fresh grass in the diet of cows by halving the atherogenicity index.

You’re Trying To Give Me a Heart Attack!! Despite the high saturated fat content of dairy products, no clear association between dairy product intake and risk of myocardial infarction (MI) has been observed.

Gain Muscle – Both exercise and coffee raise cellular energy use while simultaneously inhibiting your muscle building mechanisms (mTOR) for a brief period, which causes it to “spring back” and build even more muscle as soon as you eat. There are 3 known ways to raise mTOR. Intermittent fasting, exercise, and coffee.
