Note how little it says about the young man's crime of breaking and entering. It never says what he was wearing. It doesn't mention what drugs he was on at the time or how many other houses he previously broke into. Just that the late Diren Dede was unarmed, a German exchange student and aged 17.

Now, vis-a-vis Zimmerman, I find it interesting that so much emphasis is placed on this guy's hard on to kill someone and so little was placed on Zimmerman's. That's what I find repugnant and I'm glad it was punished here, people who want to turn self-defense into some sort of twisted, recreational pleasure.

i'm sympathetic to the reality that the law is unevenly applied to different races, and that's fucked up, but if you want to bang that drum Trevor Dooley's a lot better comparison than this psychopath.

They represented him as somebody who did something wrong in this instance and somebody with greater power killed him. They called the shooter a threat to the neighborhood. They didnt call him a thug. Or a demon. Or Hulk Hogan. Nobody made excuses. Nobody came in with corroborating lies. There was a trial. There was a sentence.

It was seeing how the trayvon case could have gone in a society that gave a damn.

That's why I'm mad. Not because this kid was white. Because they see him as a kid.

Let’s talk about “bait”.

If, for example, a pretty woman sits by you at the bar, strikes up a conversation, invites you back to her place, and you show up to get robbed/murdered/what have you?

No, that’s not on you. You (presumably) didn’t have malicious intent. Perhaps you should have been a bit more careful in your eagerness to bed a pretty girl, but outside of questionable judgment, that’s “bait” that wasn’t inviting you to do harm.

When the “bait” entails you doing something shady, well, sucks to be you. It could very well have been someone who wasn’t setting a trap, someone who was perfectly innocent and simply forgot to close the door or whatever, and if you decide to enter someone’s home uninvited? You get zero pity from me. None whatsoever. Anyone who does that shit deserves whatever they get, because yes... whoever lives there might be a psycho and that's the risk you run doing that kind of dirt.

Obviously, someone who wants to set a trap to *catch* a crook and someone who sets a trap as an excuse to kill are two different things. Someone trying to protect his family doesn’t run around bragging about how people will see it on the news, so fuck this guy two.

If you had ZERO intention of stealing a car or making off with the contents of a car bait cars shouldn't bother you. I know people like to say they only put bait cars in the hood but that just ain't true. I worked in posh ass Scottsdale, AZ. Our cars were getting hit up in the parking lot during work hours (even me, got hit for my CD wallet full of classic shit and some PC parts I had just bought one day).

Scottsdale PD set up a bait car operation and our own security stepped up surveillance.

They ended up nabbing a bunch of Mexicans and white teens from the surrounding neighborhood.

Nobody got mad at having a bait car in the lot.
