He is managed by one of the most storied managers in hip hop (Mark Pitts)
He is been co-signed by jay-z and multiple others (Drake, k Dot)
That said.. His team executed this perfectly.. Congrats

It doesn't hurt when he needs to tour and build a fanbase (initially w/o people knowing).. or when he's built in to Made In America and guaranteed air time..
90% of Cole's initial fans didnt know about cole before he was signed to Mark Pitts or Roc Nation. The co-sign alone created the initial interest and he made sure to deliver..
The album is a part of a storyline that Cole has been doing all year. Dollar and a dream tour, Ferguson, Be Free, Made In America.. All well publicized
He hasn't been absent really at all. But regardless of the Hyperbole it is an excellent example of how you maintain interest, lionize fans and build a real career in this new era..
Drake does a great job of always being in the conversation as well..
