12674042, Any writers use any creativity aids
Posted by Chat_bouts, Fri Dec-12-14 02:43 PM
I'm pretty much an ex-druggy. But I've been clean for nearly 2 years. *Horray for me* but I've been smoking tree tough for the past two weeks and I've written about 30 pieces of material. I write fiction.
12674080, I find that tree's limit creativity.

Many people swear by it, but I suppose that occurs because most things are enhanced/elevated/amplified when intoxicated. A single note can sound majestic when intoxicated and thus your level of self appreciation is deceiving.

Art is a discipline and should be treated as such. I would recommend to clear your mind, meditate, and take a walk in nature if you can before you begin.

If you make tree's a regular part of your creative process you will not want to do it when sober, and will find it to be a dull experience.
12674099, sober is for suckers.

12674185, nah not really

it really depends on the person AND the type of weed.

8/10 of anyone's favorite artists used drugs.

there are times throughout the creative process where weed isn't helpful--i'll agree with that. but in general, it can help.
12674306, smh.

12674114, if you have to be high to do it....
Posted by bonitaapplebaum71481, Fri Dec-12-14 03:07 PM
I dunno, I can't clap to it

as an aid that's fine, just don't rely on it exclusively

creativity can be manifested on both sides of the coin

12674131, I get the germ of ideas while drinking sometimes.

Half the time they are garbage under sober scrutiny.

12674172, Noi I do not use creativity aids
Posted by ThaAnthology, Fri Dec-12-14 03:38 PM
IU smoke trees lol. Not for creativity,m to settle my overactive brain/imagination. I toil through hundreds of different ideas per day. I will puff to settle my thoughts and focus them. I don't need it to actually write, however... just to settle my brain down enough to write.

I usually have to wait a good 10-15 after puffing before I can start.

I wanted to pull it back up cause I was debating ordering a bottle. I've hit a creative lull and am looking for a pick me up to help focus.

12674264, For what it's worth, focus isn't the same as creativity
Posted by Goldmind, Fri Dec-12-14 04:38 PM
For example, Adderall helps me focus. But it doesn't make me more creative. If anything, it might slightly hamper that part of my brain. It's an imperfect trade-off.

12674289, I agree
Posted by stankpalmer, Fri Dec-12-14 04:48 PM
I think I mistyped...or misread the direction of the thread lol.

It's not so much a creative lull as it is just getting off my ass and applying these ideas. I feel a little burnt out toward the end of the workday and could use something to help me focus when I get home to work on my projects.
12674313, you should probably go back to recovery if you're smoking weed...that means
Posted by R A i n, Fri Dec-12-14 04:54 PM
you're not clean...don't let it go too far.. go back to recovery now.
