granted I burned that music as CD audio and was using CD decks for it, but... yeah, I've done 128K and 192K mp3s before.

also "showthread" works on google. There are a ton of message boards that will let you see download links without registering on the board.

i actually buy most of my music (or download free b/c the artist gave it away) but older/hard to find stuff that i could grab off blogs isn't as easy to access anymore. looking to replace that void.

basically my steps are

1.itunes/amazon
and if it's not there (which happens more often than you think)
i try and find the illegalz, which are usually high quality

Not on cable, not netflix, not on amazon instant and not on any of the other legal streaming services AND my local video store has been closed down.

...a program that will let you convert YouTube vids into MP3s. If a YT vid is in 320Kpbs, you can rip it to that same level of quality. It allows you to covert easily and you won't have to deal with getting on some website to do it. Just remember to uncheck any of those options to download some weird search engine during the download process of the program.

I pay Spotify $9.99 per month (unfortunately it's blocked at work, due to the goofy ass ports it needs). So at work I stream via Rdio, & Grooveshark.

Now when I can't find what I need on the above services, I have 2 music torrent sites that I use.

This is by far the best place to download music. It's torrent based and you have to keep up a share ratio - meaning you can't just download and bounce. You can find just about any album you can imagine and all have FLAC and 320kbps downloads. It's a site for true music geeks and operates by invite only. When used correctly, your music collection will reach as far as you want it to.
