The main reason you market activists in your ranks and history and honor them with your letters should be why you encourage others to wear their letters proudly in the spirit of those who received letters for doing just that...

They are telling active AKA's (the people most likely to still be wearing letters) not to wear letters.

When I went to the Ferguson protest that started in Malcolm X park & ended up at Howard, I wore para on purpose to show solidarity & that if anyone, WE should be about this kinda stuff. I ran into a bunch of bruhs who wore their stuff too with the same mindset. You weren't tryna be neutral tryna get these orgs started so why do it now?

to be so publicly concerned w/protecting their respective images and branding in a way that makes it seem the orgs care more about those issues than the issues that drive the protests. especially since the orgs are dedicated in part to community service and fostering leadership and sisterhood.

IMO it's a better look for the orgs to take a strong position in support of the protests or at least in support of the effort to correct the issues that drive the protests and to encourage members to express themselves peacefully. but really all the concern about violence feels outdated as there have been so many peaceful protests and concern about violence now feels like it's driven by ugly stereotypes about black ppl, generally.

considering the orgs are dedicated to promoting leadership they should encourage their members to lead by example - to protest peacefully wearing the letters.

I don't think that's the case, but I respect your opinion.
