12669645, Where's the best BBQ in Memphis

Not corky's or rendezvous but where do the locals go

Also what else is worth checking out here
12669651, drive around town....

... see that dude in the parking lot with the oil drum grill and all that smokey goodness billowing out of the top? Go there.

It's like that all over the country. Find the guy that set up shop in a random parking lot with his grill.

12669838, I was unimpressed by all the BBQ I had there.

I feel like I've had better in Chicago and even NYC than anything I got in Memphis.

But Gus's Fried Chicken is one of the better food experiences I've ever had. I went to the original location near the National Civil Rights Museum and the chicken was sorta transcendent. Can't wait to have an excuse to be near Memphis to go back.
12669841, the original is in Mason

I agree with you completely, Gus was incredible

So far I've only tried Corkys and rendevous Q , they were good but not the transcendent experience I'd hoped for, that's why I've posted this question.
12669851, cozy corner if you LOVE SAUCE.
