seems excessive to shoot a guy with a knife and it seems excessive to fire that many shots in a big ass crowd. but i dont think anything will come of this.

They are alleging he had a knife and assaulted someone. But come the fuck on 10 shots?
All these cops need training. The option to just execute every single crazy person with weapon is not cutting it.
There has to be a better way. Cause plenty of people with weapons get taken alive. This shoot first shit is out of control.
But they will say it was in guidelines, they feared for their lives, yaddy yaddy yaddy and the rest of the routine.
I been saying they kill white people too with impunity. It's just not nearly as high a number as Black men.

they were sisters. She was walking with food from the local burger joint and they ran up on her.
One girl pulled out a knife but she dropped it. While she was picking it up she threw the food at her head and kicked her in the face.
The other sister was not much of a fighter and stood there in shock while she picked the knife up in defense.

They both try to come at her on the attack, so she stabbed the one sister who originally had the knife in the shoulder.
I wonder sometimes in that moment if the police would shoot and kill her because she was there with that bloody knife.
Is that the proper reaction just because you see someone with a weapon? Just shoot on site and ask questions later?

I'm not saying that's the case with this shooting. But there can be multiple reasons and scenarios why a person is holding a weapon in the moment.
It seems a lot of police today don't take the time to even find out or give the person a chance to surrender. It's a shoot first and on sight mentality.

since its a knife. I could see the cops commanding her to drop the weapon. if she didn't comply or tried jab a cop or the other girl, then its a diff story.

training won't really help u differentiate real threats from fake threats...and training without regular real-life reinforcement is almost like no training at all...trial and error on this shit is usually tragic as fuck

I really do agree with some on the board. There needs to be a post academy probationary period where beat cops do not have a fire arm (give em tasers, mace etc). Learn to deal with (and diffuse) situations FIRST then get a weapon a year or 2 later.

There would be a higher percentage of civilian trying police officers because they thought/knew they didn't have a firearm, and others would just plain get shot.

I understand the idea that making cops work through situations without the use of deadly force but you can't send someone into a situation without a firearm.

It works in other countries because their society doesn't have near the amount of gun violence or violence that our country has in general but here, it would be have terrible consequences.

There needs to be a slow escalation in what rookie's cops deal with as well.

As it stands now.. you are putting under-educated unprepared regular niggas with badges on the street to "police" under-educated unprepared regular ass niggas...

The shit just ends with whomever exerts the most force the fastest.. That isnt a winning formula.
