It's not my #1, favorite sitcom right now (I'd have to think about just what is) but it's definitely a little out there.
12666242, Married on FX is also underrated, imo

For a second there it was funnier then Always Sunny...that was about two years ago. Even though it fell off it a bit; still very entertaining and funny though.

And I think you want 30 minutes episodes.

But I'll recommend some:

1)The Simpsons. Consistently funny.
2)The Larry Sanders Show. I think it's the funniest show ever.
3)Cheers. Very funny even though it's pretty dated.
4)M*A*S*H* - Surprisingly funny.
5)Sanford and Son. Fumier with two episodes a day.
6)Night Court - Season 2-4 are 100% comedy gold.
12666440, The New Girl is my favorite shit right now.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Dec-03-14 07:02 PM
12666854, Yeah. I'm mad I slept on it last season. What season is it on anyway?
Posted by FLUIDJ, Thu Dec-04-14 10:47 AM
This is the 2nd season I hope....
.
12667665, 4. the first 3 are on netflix.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Dec-04-14 10:46 PM
coach's return has been great for the show.
12666442, Maron (IFC), Legit (FXX) and Archer (FX)
Posted by bigkarma, Wed Dec-03-14 07:04 PM
I must admit when it first came out I thought Marc Maron was just trying to coattail Louie C.K., and do Louie:West Coast. But, Maron found it's own lane quickly, and while Louie got a little heavy handed, Maron is consistently good.

I feel like the only one who loved Legit. I find Jim Jeffries hilarious, and by the second season he had a cast of killers with Dan Bakkedahl, DJ Qualls and John Ratzenberger. I hate that it got cancelled right after they introduced his father on the show, played by George Lazenby.

I got into Archer heavy in Season 4. So heavy that I binge watched seasons 1-3 in one weekend.
12666467, Maron is outstanding.
Posted by placee_22, Wed Dec-03-14 07:34 PM
I fux w/ Kyle big time. lol

One of my favorite shows hands down. Can't wait for the new season to start.
12666608, I watch the Jeffersons...
Posted by Sarah_Bellum, Wed Dec-03-14 11:50 PM
I just watched an episode where the KKK moves into George's building. By some turn of events George gets invited to a Klan rally in the party room. The exchange between George and the Klan is pure comedy. The grand dragon has a heart attack and George is the only one that knows CPR. Him standing there like he's not gonna give the dude CPR is hilarious. George saves the mans life but the dude says he should have let him die… but his son sees the whole thing and quits the Klan.

12666674, Brooklyn Nine Nine and Marry Me are my favorite sitcoms on today.
Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Dec-04-14 03:21 AM
Marry Me is only six or seven episodes into its first season, but Brooklyn Nine Nine has a full first season that is absolutely worth binging.

The people who recommended Veep and Broad City are also steering you in the right direction.

HOW are we supposed to believe that 35+ year old actress is only a teenager???
THAT....
Like..when that show first came on I didn't know it was a Father / Daughter relationship at all....I just figured she was dudes girlfriend or something....
.
12667702, who's 35?
Posted by sndesai1, Fri Dec-05-14 12:51 AM
the main actress is in her early 20s
12667758, Actors lie. That chick was NOT born in 1989 yo lol....
Posted by FLUIDJ, Fri Dec-05-14 07:09 AM
I'll give her 1982......
12667015, "Hey Ladies" only has one season, but the movie makes it worth it

12667033, Parks and Recreation. Skip season 1.

12667239, i don't remember season 1 being bad
Posted by howisya, Thu Dec-04-14 02:24 PM
i'm inclined to agree it got better, but i don't see why season 1 should be skipped. nbc's the office on the other hand had a pretty lame first season, especially if you've seen the bbc original already. it got good starting at season 2. parks i liked from jump.
12667741, to me the first season felt like an even lower budget office clone
Posted by GriftyMcgrift, Fri Dec-05-14 04:33 AM
then it seemed to find its own identity
12667825, RE: to me the first season felt like an even lower budget office clone
Posted by howisya, Fri Dec-05-14 09:45 AM
i agree that it developed more of its own style after the first season, but it was still funny. i wouldn't skip the first season because it introduces the characters and their dynamics, and i really had no problems with the dialog. i guess i kinda did think the whole series was going to revolve around filling that hole, and that would have been ridiculous, but thankfully they expanded the story. i think to get the most out of the show you have to watch the first season even if it's not the best one.
12668535, binge watching by definition is impatient
Posted by now or never, Fri Dec-05-14 06:32 PM
I find myself recommending great, great shows to people and they watch 2 episodes and give up on some "it didn't hook me in the beginning"
comedy is a little different because you don't really need the backstory to laugh, but I could easily see someone watching the first season of parks and rec and not wanting to watch the rest of it
and season 2 is so much better than season 1 I'd hate them to miss it because they didn't stick it out
I mean they'd miss ron and tammy for god's sakes.

12673704, you're right
Posted by howisya, Fri Dec-12-14 12:33 PM
sometimes i have to remind myself i'm the freak/weirdo. even the few new shows in the last 3 seasons that i am or was iffy about i('ve) continued watching because i don't give up easily. i also don't start watching shows past their first season. if i missed it, and i've missed a lot because for a while i just was not watching much tv or didn't have the channel, i usually wait for it to end its run before starting. if i do start before then, it's always from the very beginning. i have to remember that most people are not that patient or deliberate, especially now. i care about the overall story of a series, and jokes are funnier with the complete backstory that has been presented so far.
12667704, well its not similar, but everyone should watch psych and monk
